Yeah, seems back to normal again.
I love how busy the BR Invites thread is :) If I wasn't feeling overwhelmed right now I'd go participate. I know there's stuff I'd like to read next year but my brain is drawing a blank. I hate when this happens. Iain, where are you tracking 2025 releases?

I think I remember Ilona Andrews had released a tentative 2025 schedule. I'd love to BR whatever releases from them next year.
I see that Butcher has the next Dresden almost written. Is there any chance it could release next year or is it likely 2026?
Hmm...I checked IA's upcoming releases page and it's not updated for 2025 so it's in a blog post somewhere that I don't want to go dig for.
I know we have Discworld going and I'm in for the long haul there, even though I likely won't get to Nov or Dec's reads until after finishing up Stormlight.
I've been debating doing some house cleaning and rereading older books to see if I want to keep them or trade them in. Think you (or anyone) would be up for some older fantasy?

Not sure IA has anything official for 2025... it's all flux around Maggie edits... could be wrong tho... there's the 2 books they want to write... I think Hugh 2 and next Innkeeper... or Aurelia Ryder 2... I forget...

Urban Fantasy set in Canada. I remember it being a lot of fun. I see an audio book listed for the first one.

My library has Obsidian trilogy in audiobooks. I can do Obsidian and Keeper's Chronicles with ya! =D
The rest require purchase or no audiobooks.
Sorta tempted to put out Anne McCaffrey series. I think I have the ebooks. That one will be a maybe for me. I probably read that series eons ago. XD

I expect the ending of Stormlight to take me a while due to page length and then I will need to catch up on 2or 3 Discworld + Rachel Aaron in Jan. Everything has buyable audio except McKenna... the only McKenna audiobooks are a the first 2 books in a longer series about the Green Man, and book 1 of THAT is on Audible Plus:

Random aside... I my husband decided to read the Dresden Files a few months ago. He just finished up Changes plus Side Jobs and told me how he expects the story to go next (view spoiler) :D I just handed him Ghost Story to start on and told him he'll find out soon lol
Threads requested and cross posted to BR Invites to see if anyone else is interested. I'm looking forward to revisiting both series :) If this works out we can peruse my shelves again for more candidates. I really could use the space for new books or I will not be upset if I love them and keep them. It's a win win!
🤣🤣🤣 Asian idea of Mary Sue is so over the top that I can't help but munch on the ridiculous story popcorn of it all when it's done right.Usually, it's just super strong/smart or everything is plot armored.
Asian idea is to have an epic full Renaissance character build of intelligence, physical ability, skills and beauty. 🤣
I like it when all the MANY uber aspects of Mary/Gary leads are spread in the story progression. Plot armor can be entertaining when it's done in a clever manner. Fun popcorn!
Undertaker's Moon - This one is on November Audible Monthly Sale. Reviews seem good so I got it.I got a bunch of mildly random stuff, but I figured this is one that most of us haven't read.
I gave up on ghetto pour over when I figured out that particular strainer is hard to wash out all the dish soap. 🫠Now I'm just using my insulated mug to seep coffee, make coffee with seeped brew and using coffee grinds to keep trash can deordorized. 😎

I don't think people are going into the different groups & making the update changes to get notifications. Like I only did that with a few of the threads here on FBR. I haven't bothered to go and make updates in other groups, etc. I'm still surprised I get updates in my normal feed from friends. XD
It's more reliable to check group homepage to see where people have posted. I do that sometimes.

@Iain, I'm gonna look at the Tracker later today. Plan to sign up for the 2025 Challenge. I like my tracker to be kinda simple, but would be nice to have drop downs for Graphic Novel/WebNovel, etc. Will take a look see at the default & what others have setup.

I'm glad I never relied on the email notifications for GR updates. I hate all the email spam and turned it off as much as possible lol I prefer the website notifications and discussions pages. When one is broken by a code update, the other works.I'm making progress on Lich's Bargain, which isn't a BR so not commenting a whole lot. I'm not making as much progress on Rhythm of War so not commenting because I think I only read one chapter yesterday. I think I'm past my digression into understanding DID and should read a bit more this week. That video was super interesting.

So... 2025 is gonna be all about getting that unread number down.

At least a good portion of those books are also ones I bought on sale to get the audiobooks for series/etc that I liked in print. That's probably 20-30%.

Audible should be having a sitewide sale with prices as much as 85% off, starting Friday or Monday, if it's like last year...
That sale is hit and miss for me! Like, I have to remember to look up authors for sales and usually the sale price is meh. Makes it easy to NOT buy for me. HhahahahahhahaThough, with the prices of everything going up, I probably will adjust the idea of what I think of as a good middle sales price. Ugh. Inflation. Experiencing inflation multiple times in one's life is hard!

The sale works best if you've been using your wishlist to tag things all year, as me and Ann-Marie have started doing... then you have an easy list to check...
Last year, I picked up a bunch of books in a couple series, and pre-ordered some unreleased books for cheap... same with the Summer Sale... I mostly pair it with my Buddy Read schedule for the year, and/or buy LitRPGs since alot tend to be Audible Exclusive...
My wish list on Audible is loaded & too long to browse. 😆😆😆It is most helpful for the other sales. Cause stuff on wishlist are showcased during sales as top picks.
I usually do a mix of wishlist and author checks for statewide sale.

I've become more choosey about what I add on GR TBR. I try to keep that to books I really wanna try later and just the next book of a series. It's messy to add a full series to TBR.

The screws that hold these on to the recliner:
It's just an inch-long screw that screws into a Tee Nut hammered into the wood of the chair on the other side:
You need to remove the leather cover to access, if you're being professional... my amateur at-home repairs just cuts the leather outta the way... or the mesh fabric... it's in the back area of the chair anyway, and generally hidden by that velcro flap... nobody's gonna notice... and I don't have the skills for stapling leather back on to wood anyway...
It's good to pick up skills to fix your fav things! You can always put double sided velcro on the piece to get it to stay in place and you can remove to fix the next time.
