Vagabond Treehouse ~ [Fall 2025: World of Chains #1-3 (Wayward Bard) | The Perfect Run 1-3 (alternating)]
Finally did my taxes... 90 minutes of work I put off for 2-3 months, every other year... I did them on April 5th last year... and I think I wasn't done until almost May the year before, because state government had put a bunch of extra layers of protection in because of increased fraud...

Foot stuff...? Not my thing, but sounds interesting nonetheless :p

The AI running the dungeon has a bit of a foot fetish... Carl starts getting achievements and lootbox rewards that incentivize him staying barefoot and in boxers throughout the dungeon... and it does this stereotypical aroused voice when reading the popups regarding anything foot related... you'll see...

At some point, the other character is paralyzed by a poison, and the MC has to give him the antidote. He then receives a LOT of donations for each spoon he feeds him x)

You are encouraging me to finish my current audio book faster and jump right into #2 with you :D

Oh no! I hope you get better soon, Nirkatze.

I am having trouble not starting DCC 2 immediately lol

Loved reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl comments, @Virginie! Y'know, it's funny, but somehow the AI's foot fetishism totally flew over my head until the most recent BR... I don't know how I keep missing it... but sometimes I think I have selective hearing when audiobooking...

That's good to hear. Threadbare was my first LitRPG read ever, it has a special place in my heart :)
I actually finished DCC 1 a couple days ago, just couldn't comment (was avoiding screens 'cause migraine). We can start right away if you want :D

Heh! It's funny 'cause I got a good friend of mine into anime recently. We were watching the last couple episodes of Frieren and chatting on whatsapp to exchange impressions, and his main reaction was "Huuuum... Good episodes, but why the feet? It was a bit weird". I rewatched to figure out what the hell he was talking about and yes, there it was, shots angled to include the overly-well animated feet of an elf. I somehow didn't notice/selectively ignored it xD

I feel you... I have been on and off sick/unwell for a while now. These past couple weeks, I went on the roller-coaster off horrible migraine -> can't sleep 'cause pain -> trigger insomnia where I get 2h of sleep a night AT BEST -> crash down in a weird position a week later 'cause sleep deprived -> sleep like the dead for 16 hours straight -> horrible neck and back pain 'cause 16h in weird position -> miss the last couple steps of the stairs 'cause I can't move my head -> now has horrible neck and back pain AND a twisted ankle -> doesn't clean apartment properly 'cause pain -> too much dust, triggers allergies -> allergies trigger migraine.
Honestly, I think there is a System in our world like in LitRPG, and it decided to switch my life to hard mode as soon as I hit 30 lol.

I thought the same thing lol Glad you're feeling better Nirkatze :)

Oh good! I started DCC2 :)
Carl's Doomsday Scenario through ch 4 (view spoiler)

It sure feels like it sometimes doesn't it! Hope you feel better soon Virginie.

I agree, the author hits those story beats perfectly. Plus the near perfect comedy timing and the narrator's voice for the characters... if there is one series I would absolutely recommend audio for over other formats it is this one.

DCC2 through chapter 4: (view spoiler)

Re your Ch 4 (view spoiler)

Well if that isn't a series of unfortanate events, I don't know what is! Hope you can catch a break
Cheaters that don't read as much get all the best recommendations and only read the best books... it's not fair...

I miss my 20s... when my body was mostly functional... now it feels like my old car, where every fix revealed a new hidden problem that needed fixed... now I'm 37, feel 74 ;)

Only annoying thing for me, on audio, was the book that Mordecai had drunk hiccups the whole book...
And you should try Thundamoo (that's an author)... she likes body transformation stories:
Vigor Mortis
Hive Minds Give Good Hugs
Bioshifter: Volume 1

But what would we do without the pioneers? Who go bravely into the dark so we mere mortals can benefit from your exploration?
Also reading the bad makes you appreciate the good all the much more xD

And your sacrifice is very much appreciated.
I vaguely remember reading a PNR that you wanted to try out (I think Diana was there too). Something about...weredinosaurs ? That book singlehandedly killed any desire for exploration in the PNR genre lol.

Yeah, the audio is really stellar so far for DCC. I had to pause at some point 'cause the first "BOSS BATTLE!" sent me into an inexplicable laughing fit haha.
Oh nice, I'll give it a try eventually :) Thanks!

You know you love trying new things and reporting back for us!

I hate how much I've been procrastinating on everything lately.. Still haven't been able to kick myself into cleaning the house and its badly needed

Did somebody say Eternal Pleasure by Nina Bangs?... I still think about that book... the premise is so bonkers... and the execution is so horrible... and we went to such lengths to get our hands on it, since it was mostly out of circulation/print...
You can read much better stuff, and for free, on Hoopla/Audible+

I've been doing a bunch of de-cluttering. It feels good even if it doesn't look like I've accomplished much yet. You'll get there :)

Baby steps! I hate how easy it is to procrastinate on those things... These days, I try to congratulate myself on ONE thing I did good that day, like doing the dishes, going to sleep at a decent hour or not punching an asshole in the face even though I really really wanted to :)

That's the one! I honestly don't remember much, which is surprising 'cause I usually have a good memory when it comes to stories. I think I wiped it from my memory lol.

Sweet! We can comment here or there's an old thread from #2's BR in February we can revive.
