Tiffany Aaron | 3 comments I just can’t stand the idea of some of the books we are reading being considered classics but at the same time I just can’t seem to find any books being written like they used to be… kind of wild to think about how literature and art changes generation to generation…

Why can't you stand the idea of some of the books we are reading being considered classics? Is it because you feel some classics shouldn't have that status, or are you dismayed by the fact of some of your current favourite books being called classics in 20 years?

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Personally I think that books haven't changed much from 500 BCE to 1600 CE. Ironically, it was sudden and monumental changes in literature that ushered in the Regency and Victorian eras.

Change is certain. But I have been getting a bit worried by the kind of books being hailed nowadays. And homage to classics aren't being read widely anymore. Maybe Romantasy and Urban Fantasy will be considered classics in the future. History has always been written by the winners. But us people know that many worthy books will be forgotten? Or will they? I don't know what will happen in 200 years.
