Hi! The number of pages in a book is meant to include all content except for advertisements and preview chapters for other books. Included end material may include acknowledgments, afterwords, appendices, bibliographies, glossaries, indexes, notes, and suggested discussion questions.

For the first one there is a blank page and advertisements after page 229 and for the second a blank and advertisements after the about the author page so those are correct.
