andy noble | 3 comments I loved Lord of the Rings and Tad Williams trilogy Memory Sorrow Thorn. I am just waiting to read The Navigators Children, which is the final part of Tad Williams 's Last King of Osten Ard trilogy. Joe Abercrombie's First Law series is good if you like your fantasy to be a bit bloody and somewhat nihilistic.

message 16: by Nicolette (new)

Nicolette K | 12 comments Rhapsodic - this was really reminiscent to ACOTAR to me because there’s a beautiful man with wings lol

Kingdom of the Wicked - there’s 3 books in this series, currently on the last book and I’ve really loved it. But essentially it’s about a witch trying to solve a crime that involves the seven princes of hell!

Throne of the Fallen - set in the same world as kingdom of the wicked but it’s specifically about the Prince of Envy

Also if you liked ACOTAR then I definitely recommend her other series Throne of Glass if you haven’t already read it, yes it’s a lot but absolutely worth the journey :)

S. Atherton | 8 comments Monsters, Relics, and Dangers Unknown is a fantasy adventure that walks the lines of darkness, danger, beauty, and magic. A band of brave heroes in another world agree to a dangerous quest where they must trek through unusual realms, face obstacles, and fight monstrous creatures to reach a high-stakes battle between good and evil.

It is now available on Kindle Unlimited✨ I still need more reviews so that others can find my book and find out whether it is the right fit for them. If you'd like to check it out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)

Shawnee904 | 5 comments I think I'm in the minority. I didn't like Sarah J Maas. I tried reading one of hers and I got halfway through the first book about an assassin and I just wasn't in to it.

I thought The Fourth Wing was awesome. I'm currently reading Iron Flame but it's slow going. Has anyone finished it yet? I'm still on the first chapter.

message 29: by Birdtrovert (new)

Birdtrovert | 11 comments Okay kind of more Fantasy and not very romance heavy (more slow-burn but not like FW or ACOTAR). Forestborn. I just finished reading it and i really enjoyed it! Its the first book in a (completed) duology. I need to read book 2 (Wildbound) but Forestborn was a great fantasy with great worldbuilding and really good characters. Plus it has a great brother-sister relationship and the main guy, Weslyn? Great guy. I want to give him a hug. Maybe not what youre looking for but i still highly recommend

Sara G | 61 comments omg I just started Crescent City Sarah J Maas is the fantasy queen this one is great once you get past the first 250 pages lol!!!!

message 32: by Pete (new)

Pete Carroll | 4 comments Different recommendations based on what you might be interested in.

Furies of Caulderon by Jim Butcher, The series feels like the happy middle ground from YA to full on epic fantasy.

Chronicles of Pyrdain by Lloyd Alexander, another series in that middle ground similar to Furies of Caulderon imo

For a story close to Six of Crows, I’d recommend Lies of Locke Lamora, it’s more adult oriented but it’s a masterpiece and it also has one of the best friendships in all of Fantasy

Sword Cather by Cassandra Clare Interesting premise with love interests etc.

Honestly anything by Sanderson, the original Mistborn trilogy is amazing, Elantris is good as a standalone, Stormlight Archives if your looking for something with fantastic world building and a more traditional fantasy bend like Jordan, and Tolkien.

If you don’t mind series that are never getting finished, The Name of the Wind is also pretty great.
