Welcome to this month's Hidden Gems challenge!

Hidden Gems is a fantastic way to plow through those mountains of books claiming space in your house or e-reader. I have found that this challenge produces some fun group interaction as well, because someone else chooses which book you’ll read next.

If you sign up, you'll be matched up with a Hidden Gems partner. You will choose a book from the list your partner designates which you have already read and cannot believe your partner hasn’t read yet. Your partner will do the same for you with the list you designate. The point is to find that “Hidden Gem” that you think they’ll love… because you adored it when you read it!

Let us know which books you choose for each other. When you finish reading your gem, let us know what you thought about it. Perhaps your Hidden Gem might find its way to someone else’s wish list!

Match-ups will be created on the 10th of the month. Please choose books for each other by the 13th.

Sign up by telling us which list you’d like your partner to choose from.

Happy reading, friends!

Here are this month's match-ups. Since I was late, let's add a day to get those picks in: by January 14th.

Reminder of how this works: The number beside your partner's name is the comment number in which they designated the shelf they would like books chosen from. Please choose 3-4 books from that shelf to give to your partner for the month's choices. They will do the same for you.

Note: If your profile is not set to public, please let your partner know they can friend you to gain access to your shelves.

Happy reading!

Jenn (7) - Bridget (10)

Brittany | 559 comments Missy - I ended up reading The Lost Boys of Barlowe Theater by Jaime Jo Wright . It was spooky and I wondered if it was going to be darker than I wanted for awhile. However, the author wrapped everything up very nicely in a way that made me happy in both timelines. Thanks!

Brittany - I am glad you liked it. I still have it on my shelf to read. I read Sons of Blackbird Mountain (Blackbird Mountain, #1) by Joanne Bischof , because the other book I was going to read was #3 in a series. But this was a pleasant surprise, and I loved it. Thank you for selecting it for me.

Oh, and just so you know, I was curious about the #3 in series book that you were going to read but didn't. I couldn't remember which one I had suggested, so I looked up our original comment. I wanted you to know that even though they are a "series" for Jody Hedlund, the books aren't actually connected in any way. You can read them as stand alones. So, you can read it without having read the others before it whenever you want. In fact, I haven't read the two other books.
