2024 Team Competition Tracker / Google Sheet Central

All the personalized data gathering, that isn't used for team points in the top row, should measure all books on your tab... Genre charts, New Reads vs Re-Reads, Series progress trackers (started, continuing, finished, abandoned, standalone)... any of that stuff, really, and the many variations I'm forgetting...

Done :)
I hate when that happens (even if I've managed to mostly ward it off, the past few years... I have some bad/stressful weeks, but usually bounce back with a vengeance)...

She actually only had one unused row left when she asked...
I added 50 rows when I got home from work this morning, ate some leftovers, and went to bed... then you added 60 more rows... I think she's good now...

I like my spreadsheet as it is; the only change I would make is to change C/G to either Graphic Novels or Sequential Art (this being my favorite of the two options).
There are also two random rows toward the end: "Books I want to focus on in 2023" and "Scheduled Buddy Reads," which I think were copied from Timelord's original spreadsheet.

I might have another 25-30 books in me this year, so I should be okay! TY!

Heh, I was wondering about that. Then I figured that, on the off chance that you hadn't actually added more lines already and she was anticipating reading a LOT of books, I should add some more. So I selected a random number of lines, doubled it and then one more time, and called it a day xD

Fixed the audio counter. It will count if you choose "Audio" or "Immersive". It would not have impacted the challenge but might as well make it work :)
Changed "C/G" to "Sequential Art" per your request, resized the column to fit the text.
Removed the two rows at the end of the spreadsheet.

You are awesome sauce! Thank you! :)
I can't wait to use it again in 2025!!
I knew Virginie would do the work for me...
Been tired since going to overnights a few days ago for work... don't return to day shift until 22nd, just before Christmas...
Finally almost have my sleep schedule sorted, altho I struggle to sleep for more than 5-6hrs at a stretch it seems... get home around 6am, sleep shortly after, awake around noon... usually get home at 1pm and sleep 7pm-3am on a good day... day 1 of nights I failed to sleep at all, and was up from 5am until 6am the next day... set the tone for my first 3 days on overnights...
All that to say I haven't been around at my usual times to respond to people :D

All good pal. graveyard shift is the worst especially as you age.

My whole role as Tech Support grew out of being the last remaining active spreadsheet enthusiast, when Rob stepped back after setting up the original sheet and helping Virginie & me design the new and improved sheet we've been using the past 6-7 years...
Having Virginie lurking is a godsend :D

- added a date cell in D1 to allow to filter the whole tab to only shows requests AFTER that date (and empty lines). Basically, you only have to change the date, clic on the filter button on the "Starting Date" header and clic OK instead of hiding the lines manually to cut down on scrolling. That way, we shouldn't have to delete lines in the form tab ever, just filter (and eventually add lines I guess) so yay for not messing creating misalignment between the QUERY columns and the others :)
- repurposed the old checkbox used by Margret back when she was editing the master thread manually. It's now used to "hide" requests since we can't really delete them. Checking it means no annoying conditional coloring visually yelling at you a link is missing and it's not appearing in the Upcoming tab (even if there is a link). That way, it's easy to deal with duplicates and such.
Great stuff... should repost it in the BR Request Form/Spreadsheet explanation thread, and/or message Yanique, since those features mostly benefit her, as the Thread Master that makes all the threads... I mostly do the row hiding and collapsing to help her...
How does your filter work with hidden rows?... do we need to unhide everything in the filtered tab?...
How does your filter work with hidden rows?... do we need to unhide everything in the filtered tab?...

I only tested it a bit (Yanique was creating threads, I didn't want to mess around and bother her lol). As far as I know, hidden rows are filtered but the filter doesn't "unhide" them. For example: if I manually hide some rows with a starting date in 2025, then filter to only show requests in 2025 and later, I still won't be able to see the rows manually hidden. But they are technically filtered, so if I unhide everything, they'll appear (where previously hidden rows in 2024 won't).
I already unhide everything so we don't have double hide/filter functionalities at the same time. Should the filter be a problem, it's pretty easy to hide specific rows anyway. Just filter to only show the relevant rows, select all and hide :p Then reset the filter and voilà!

For my "Categories", it's basically the default with a few tweaks.
1) Re (Re-Reads)
2) Book Title
3) Author
4) Series
5) Genre (Drop Down Menu)
6) Date Read
7) Pages
8) Audio
9) GN
10) BR
11) Challenge
12) Rating
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to 2025 Challenge. =D

ETA for the team announcement will be some point this weekend! Then Iain will have a couple of days to reorganize the tracker. :)

Thank you! :)
Going to put in my request for my 2025 sheet now, if I could have the exact same one as 2024, that would be much appreciated :)

Same here
Same sheet is default… I just copy previous year and wipe all book data and update year/etc… only need to ask for changes from what you had previous year or the last time you participated… I can import your tab from older sheets into newer sheets pretty easily, too…

I'm sorry... my computer occasionally has this problem where if I haven't pressed a key for a while the computer doesn't register I hit anything for a few seconds--and then if I don't press more keys afterwards, it automatically starts going sticky keys... really messes up anything using shift or ctrl etc, once deleted a bunch of my files before I noticed it when I went to delete one thing... It just started acting up again and I'm still finding places I got all messed up by pressing a key at the wrong time... >.< And of course every time I bring it in to get looked at, it starts acting normally...

My PCP just added Ozempic to my fabulous cocktail of medications (slight sarcasm) to encourage weight loss precisely because 1. I am getting older, and 2. My back issues prevent me from doing much more than walking. (I hate walking. I find it boring, even when listening to music and/or audiobooks.)
I took my first shot yesterday. I'm curious to see how things go.
