I'm looking forward to getting to Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism myself. Whether or not it will be in the course of 2024, is the question!
What did you think of All the Light We Cannot See now that you've finished it?
I hope you have a great 2024 filled with lots of amazing books. Here's a great reading year!

Thank you, Lisa!
Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism was fun. I was already a fan of her podcast and the book follows a similar rhythm.
I really wanted to like All the Light We Cannot See, but I could barely stay awake through it. It was well-written in the sense that I'm sure the author did well in his English classes; however, the nonchronological timeline that was split between narrators along with the length of the book made the story challenging to follow. One of the protagonists is blind and the chapters told from her perspective were wonderfully descriptive in a way that almost felt like a guided meditation. I struggled to finish the book because I kept falling asleep while reading. The story is good and I really enjoyed the Netflix series after I finished the book.

I apologize for not getting around to responding earlier. I didn't realize she had a podcast though, so now I'm curious about that aspect aswell.
I completely understand you points regarding All the Light We Cannot See. I read and listened to the book simultaneously, to be able to keep myself focused on what was happening, But that was also probably partly because of the genre and setting. I'd still like to watch the tv series at some point though.
Have you read anything else that has stood out since we "spoke" last? I'm currently in a bit of a slumpish mood (again again) for whatever reason, so currently looking to see if other members are reading anything that will reignite that spark.
Have a fantastic weekend!
