I can’t believe I waited this long to read.

I saw a YouTube blogger recommended this book of best of all time list. I vaguely remembered the movie series from the 80’s but thought I would give it a go. I LOVE THIS BOOK. I read it at a pace the cowboys traveled and found the scenery and the people to be beautiful and interesting. My favorite character is Augustus “Gus” McCrae. I enjoyed his wisdom and wit. By the end of the book, I was emotional to say the least. It left me in a mood for a couple of weeks. I wonder if it was because of my age or my stage in life that made this book so great to me. I will read it again to find those things I’ve forgotten or missed the first time.
