So that explains the title of this book. She couldn't kill him herself because of vows.
I didn't love that they were executing the other side seems cruel. But I guess they didn't know they were fighting because they had no choice.
Her poor brother and Sarah. That made me choke up.

Hmmm I thought about this and I don't think he is. (view spoiler)[ He was trying to win the war and kill a god. I felt sympathy for him he was trying to protect himself in a situation he chose that was dangerous. He also saved Roman and got Iris so he could stop him from being executed (hide spoiler)]
