Drace (dracenines) | 7410 comments This is a constant issue, and I'm wondering if there's any way it can be taken care of.

Whenever the Amazon import bot goes to work on a new book, 99 times out of 100, it automatically assigns the ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 numbers for the ebook edition to the book's Kindle edition. It also sometimes assigns a Kindle edition ASIN to a non-Kindle edition. It's an incredibly annoying problem, and I'm surprised that it still hasn't been fixed. Basically every single time I want to start a thread to ask the librarians to clean up issues with multiple editions of a single book, I have to preface it by going to Goodreads Staff and asking them to remove the incorrectly-assigned ISBN or ASIN and create a new page for it before the bot swoops it in and puts it on a different incorrect edition.

Is Jaclyn aware of these issues? And Jaclyn, if you're reading this, is it an issue that Goodreads' people are aware of? The problem is very widespread and a huge pain to deal with.

Conclusion (at the time) was: "It's not a bug with the Amazon > Goodreads import."
