ami (amireadsbooks) | 6 comments HELP. Some say to read Assassins Blade First and some say 4th after Heir of Fire. I'm seeing so many opinions and I don't know what to do???

Kayleigh Pesce | 328 comments Oh read Assassins Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Empire of Storms, tantem read Queen of Shadows with Tower of Dawn and then read Kingdom of Ash

Cassidy | 347 comments I read it third actually! I haven’t read the rest of the series yet only TOG, COM, and TAB. I liked reading it third and connecting with Calaena before getting the backstory but I think I would have enjoyed it first equally as much. It depends on what you like! If you want the story in order then go for Assassin’s Blade first because that is chronological.

Constanza | 108 comments Read it first and then throne of glass , crown of midnight, heir of fire, queen of shadows, empire of storms , tower of dawn and then kingdom of ash . You can do tandem read with tower of dawn and empire of storms

Nadia❤️ | 104 comments Reading it first also makes the time flow together chronologically. Helps you understand stuff more and really get in the feels

Annabella | 284 comments I read it third after Crown of Midnight, and I think that was best because I knew how it would end but not everything that went on, and if I’d read it after Heir of Fire, too many events mentioned in Assasins Blade would have gone over my head.
You’re going to have so many different opinions, so go with your gut, but if you don’t want to read it third, I’d read it first, but not fourth. Either way you’ll love the entire series, I’m halfway through atm and it’s so much fun!!!

Karsyn | 611 comments I read it third also! I recommend it this way to everyone! It's the publication order. I recommended this way to my bestie who is reading it now, and she said the same thing I did when someone recommended it this way to me: it keeps you wanting more. I'm going to explain it in the least spoilery way that I possibly can while still making sense... Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight have these moments where they allude to the events before the book (aka, the events of Assassin's Blade). Putting AB third keeps you wanting to know, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and it does all of that without spoiling the big reveal when you finally get to read the prequels! Then, in Heir of Fire, the main character tells a very abridged version of the events, and finally knowing what those events are makes that moment so poignant! You feel the emotion and the heaviness of that moment and it's importance because you finally know what happened too. I will ALWAYS recommend it this way because it just really drives the emotion. Knowing all of that beforehand is understandable... but the publication order is just 🔥🔥🔥

Bella P (semi-hiatus) | 185 comments Read it first. I’ve read the entire series ❤️

message 11: by faye (new)

faye | 262 comments controversial but i would recommend reading assassins blade after throne of glass just because throne of glass gets you into the story and invested in the characters. if i read assassins blade first i feel like i would’ve dnfed the series 🤷‍♀️

message 12: by Grace (new)

Grace (g_reviewer16) | 22 comments I read it both before TOG and after Crown of Midnight. I preferred the reading it first because it gave Celena more depth for me and helped me get through TOG

message 13: by shania (hiatus) (new)

shania (hiatus) read it before throne of glass!! you get so much insight into celaena's character and you just understand a few things mentioned in throne of glass way better
