I loved the plot! I flew through this book. It was really easy read for me. I cannot wait to read more books by V.E. Schwab.

I'm making a prediction: they will reach Black London only in the third book XD

Mary I gave it 4/5 stars.

A really quick and easy read. The plot did grab my attention and I was never bored the entire time reading the book. Which is a great feeling when you pick up a book to get lost in another world. I loved the fantasy elements, the magic, creepy villains, and alternate worlds. It was a really great dystopian concept and I am looking forward to the next in the series. Sort of curious of where the series will go from here since this book could be a standalone.

I like this prediction. But I was thinking that it was a two-parter instead of a trilogy. Then again, this is YA where the world is full trilogies and back stories in novella forms. :)

This is one of the best books I have read in my life.

The clever writing style is icing on top a moist a chocolate cake of fully-fleshed out characters. Yummy (literally, for some characters)!
De-RHYS-cious

The plot may be store-bought, run-of-the-mill, offering. But it retains an appropriate amount of crunch, just like the nuts in your favorite crunchy peanut butter swimming in silken peanut cream of masterful world(s)-building (complete with their own languages).

Crunchy

Also, this is a quick snack/read. But chewing slowly would have its rewards since mysteries are at every turn. Warning though, if you are squeamish, this book can be triggering.

Lastly, V.E. Schwab is a courageous writer. That's my euphemism for: she likes to talk DARK. Although it goes very dark in the third chapter, she was clearly holding back - a lot. If she is allowed (coz there's no doubt she has the balls), she will take this even deeper into darkest darkness, where red is as light as the brightest white.

Ok, I really enjoyed this book. It was a little slow at the beginning but necessary. The last few sections were awesome. I loved all the twists and turns.

Look forward to reading more from this author.

Miss Diana I'm leaning towards 4 stars. The storytelling is beautiful, a lot of the scenes are creative and captivating, and the world building is really interesting!

However, even though we get to know all the characters and their individual stories for most of the novel, it takes a while to get to the overarching theme that ties them all together and to get to the main point of the novel. Overall, though, I enjoyed this one!

And my prediction: Holland is not going to die in Black London, but he will be revived/overtaken by the magic that still lurks there and will then make it back to the other Londons. Havoc shall ensue.

I have the same predictions. I've written them all down in a blog post (here) coz I couldn't stop thinking about this book. It lived in my head for quite some time.^^

Adrienne | 60 comments 5/5stars. Mind blown. Heart still pounding. I love V.E Schwawbs writing style in this book. I already put Vicious and The Archieved on my kindle. I think I will just have a marathon of all the books she has written. She is one of my fav authors right now.

I like how there is blood magic, and then there is this very dark magic. Magic is powerful and can consume anyone. Kell knows better, but he still cannot control himself. His love for Rhy had me chocking back sobs. I love everything about this book. I wish there were more.
