How did you like the setup, world-building, introduction to our characters?

*SPOILERS BELOW*

BooksByDano | 1 comments I am loving it so far. Really engrossed in the story and love how the book is set out. The world(s) is explained in enough detail to help the reader but not over explained at the start to bomb bard you with information

I agree with BooksByDano. So far I really liked how because the letter was in another version of the jacket he had to take it off and flip it. For me this is a really subtle way of making magic visible: casual and yet making it obvious that there is something different going on here.

Agree. Subtlety is key.

Miss Diana I'm hooked. I like the set up and different worlds because even though everything is pretty far fetched, the dynamics of it all are still explained and grounded enough in the story's own reality to keep it believable and interesting. I'm also very intrigued by Kell's story and the mystery of his past!

message 6: by Anna (new) - rated it 1 star

Anna (annbau) To be honest I really struggle with this book. Till now it's pretty boring and nothing caught my interest to keep me reading... gonna push myself to continue because I really love fantasy stories. I just hope it gets better :(

Josh (bragison) I'm enjoying it very much, but I feel like the world-building so far is very slow and leaves a lot unexplained, which kind of makes me want to read on to find out more, and kind of leaves me hoping that every chapter will be the chapter to introduce (what I'm assuming will be) the exciting plot.

There seems to be a lot of mystery so far, as it doesn't really explain who characters are , but rather introduces them as if I should already know who they are, which sometimes confuses me about whether they are new characters or I've forgotten about them.

Adrienne | 60 comments The different Londons are absolutely fascinating. I love how they are all represented by color.

I want to know more about Kell's past. He is def intriguing. I have just finished this book and I absolutely love it!
