This reminds me so much of my "first love" that it is almost frightening. The drawings are beautiful and haunting and the threads of the story (family, faith, first love) is so wonderfully intermingled. I wish there were at least one or two drawings in color, but I understand why Thompson made the stylistic choice. I suspect this story will stay with me for a while.
