An easy challenge where someone else picks a book for you from your bookshelf and you do the same for someone else. You have to read the chosen book the next month.

So, sign up for this Challenge by posting your TBR shelf or the shelf from which you want to read a book.

Please make your profile public before taking part in this challenge. The pairs will be announced by 20th. Make sure you come back and choose a book for assigned partner by 25th.

Pairs:
Sapna - Ahtims
Ganesh - Selva
Nishath - Ambily
Monica - Anulekha

@Sapna, thank you
badly wanted to read it
I pick the Covenant of water for you...
reason- I read it recently and found it unputdownable.

( a close contender was Ordinary lives in North Korea or some such title due to selfish reasons - as I wanted to know your review so that I can pursue it too :P)

Sapna wrote: "Hi Ahtims, I am picking The Echo of Old Books for you. Happy reading :-)"

Finished The Echo of Old books.
It was a very different read from my usual ones. I stay away from the Romance genre, and I delved into this one unknowingly and had to continue because it was PIFM and didn't want to give up on it. But it was worthwhile as the book grew up on me. It was a satisfactory read, all in all.
It would make for a good movie though, has all the spiciness in it. I mean, in a good sort of way.

Sounds interesting actually, its on my TBR list as well. Perhaps it would make a good "light" read.

message 44: by Ahtims (new)

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 47122 comments Mod
@Sapna, it's not very light. it is emotionally demanding. I listened to the audio on Audible which was well read.

I finished "The Covenant of Water", what a long book, I finally managed to complete it.
I really liked it. I could picture things in my mind, the things were described so well. I wouldn't have picked it myself anytime soon considering the length, so thanks for choosing this one. :-)

message 47: by Anulekha (new)

Anulekha (anumuses) | 206 comments I finished Anxious People.
It was a beautiful book. I thought it would be funny, which it was. But it addressed many serious issues, so I took my time reading it and enjoyed reading it thoroughly. I saw that it also has a Netflix adaptation. Will definitely watch it.

Thank you, Monica, for choosing this one for me.
