Festival of Fools

This month, read a book that fits the theme of the Festival of Fools from the list below:

• Your book has a role reversal in it. IE. people switching places and pretending to be the other.
• There is a donkey on the cover.
• The words "donkey" or "ass" are in the title.
There is a person in power who falls from grace in your book.
• There is a member of the clergy in your book.
• There is a word for a Christian clergy member in the title. Eg priest, pastor, bishop, pope, minister, etc.
• Your book is set in the Middle Ages between 1119-1444.

WOF - Jane Reads

I read Murder in Half Moon Street, #8 in the Redmond and Haze historical mystery series.

There is a person in power who falls from grace. One of London's most respected judges is found to have accepted many bribes and committed a brutal murder.

I enjoyed the book. I really like the duo of Inspector Daniel Haze and Lord Jason Redmond. The book was unsettling, however, because of a subplot involving the judge's sister who is blackmailed into procuring young girls for a brothel. Luckily the perpetrators were arrested and hanged, and the girls rescued.
