Reccomendations for Middle School

Hello new Friends- My daughter REALLY wants to read the Stephanie Plum books with me... but the adult themes are not appropriate for my 11 year old. I would love some reccomendations for books for her that have similar mystery story lines. She likes dark, and my Husband and I are fine with that... but she doesnt love the romancey stuff... and im not ready for more romantic adult content in her books. Her reading level is VERY high (beyond 12th grade)... so fininding challenging books that are interesting and age appropriate has proven to be a bit difficult
