Woohoo, finally finished "The Chimes" and still with more than an hour left to go in the month! *does a victory lap* I actually rather enjoyed the book once I got going on it, and in the world of coincidental book linkages I was surprised to see palladium turn up as an important element (ha!) in the story of The Chimes just days after I'd read about palladium in the marvellous The Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe (which is one of many unfinished books in my house right now)
