Are there any writers whose book(s) you enjoyed, but who you don't necessarily think is a "good" writer?

(It's your discretion to define what is or isn't "good" about their writing. E.g., I personally think PK Dick is not the greatest writer---no stylist, for sure; rushes his endings; etc., but I really enjoy the way he captures paranoia and the type of stories/worlds he creates.)

Lark Benobi (larkbenobi) | 729 comments I've been trying to answer this question for a while, Marc, and I am going to say

William Sleator

who writes middle-grade fiction about the most amazing things and who somehow never took off and got the fan base he deserved. House of Stairs and Interstellar Pig are favorites but I honestly love all his books. My elder child introduced me to him.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) Nelson DeMille leaps to mind. Lee Child too.
