this might sound odd, but my first ever book was ugly love!!!! from my knowledge in those days, i found it quite entertaining, so i kept going. Haha , one year passed, and i have read around 90 books
To be Honest when i first tried reading the Harry Potters i didn't really like them but once i had watched the films i had decided to try them again and i'm so glad i did as it definitely made me want to read more! :)
For me, I started when I got the first Wheel of Time book as a gift after loving the show! It was kinda dense as a starter but it's fantasy so I loved it :)
It started out with the picture books my parents read me when I was a kid, but when I fell in love with reading by myself it was the Junie B. Jones series
I don't really remember its name, because I was 10 and my mom forced me to read it but it was a book abaout a girl that had to take an interview for school, then I continued with the goosebumps series that really got me into reading. I remember buying so many of those goosebumps books.
The first book I read was Someone like You by Sarah Dessen. I was in a store with my Mom one day and she was an avid reader at the time and she was looking at the books. She asked me if I saw a book that I would like to read and at the time I wasn't big on reading but I said that I would look anyways and she didn't force me to get one either. Someone Like You was the first book that caught my attention and from that day on I've been hooked.
I read Malory Towers about a thousand times, then Harry Potter got me into reading when I was about ten, but I gave up and only really got back into it after reading ACOTAR this year, so most of the credit goes to those three.
I have been cyclically reading my entire life. I was obsessed with The Boxcar Children in elementary school, and later things like Daughters of the Moon in middle school. By high school the hype for things like Twilight and HP kept the hobby alive.
So I guess Boxcar Children, as embarrassing as that is.
The summer of 2022 I read Perfect Little Flaws by Jennifer Ann Shore and grew an obsession with her books. I’ve read a bunch of them and they hold a special place in my heart. I would love to get an ARC one day. I’m nearing on 200 books read 💗
For me it was Harry Potter, I received my first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on Christmas and it turned me into a reader.
