(There is no other format. Only paperback.)

Even if there was another format, an edition with no format should be merged.

Xenia Pavlidou | 5731 comments In another request I have made, you didn't merge the edition with no format, because you found that there was an eBook, too. That's why I pointed out that only a paperback has been published.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13314 comments I believe you misunderstood the situation.
The request I didn't merge was because it already had the format set as ebook, not because there was an ebook in existence.

When an edition already has the format set as an ebook but has no ISBN, one needs to check if an ebook really exists. If not, we can merge it into the Kindle.

I hope this clarifies the poilicy.

Xenia Pavlidou | 5731 comments No, it didn't have the format set as ebook. I think it wasn't you who responded the request. It was a long time ago and I didn't remember well. If it was set as ebook, I wouldn't make a merge request then, for sure. I made a mistake thinking it was you, I'm sorry.
*I searched my previous requests and I found this: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The librarian made the duplicate into an ebook, because an ebook edition was on the publisher's page.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13314 comments The situation in the thread you linked is a little more difficult since none of the editions had a format. I'd probably still leave it with one, but since we don't have a strict policy for editions without a format, maybe it boils down to preferences.
