Anetq | 354 comments Challenge #5 - Short Story Challenge
Read 24 short stories. This equates to only two per month for the year. Read them all at once or spread them out; it's up to you.

1. Bæreposeteorien om fiktion by Ursula K. Le Guin (more of an essay, but VERY short)
2. Madam Høiers Lejefolk by Amalie Skram
3-14 The Souvenir Museum by Elizabeth McCracken (12 stories)
15-24 Deborah Levy Black Vodka: Ten Stories

DONE 1/8

Anetq | 354 comments DONE Challenge #4 - Members Choice Challenge
12/12 Read - July.

1. 19th Century, Madam Høiers Lejefolk by Amalie Skram
2. 20th Century, The Garden Party by Katherine Mansfield
3. 21st Century, Woman, Eat Me Whole: Poems by Ama Asantewa Diaka
4. A book originally written in a language other than your own, Blodbog by Kim de l'Horizon
5. An Author never read before, Beklædning imod kvinder by Anne Boyer
6. Diversity Classic, read a book from a religion, culture, country, or race different than yours.
The Language of Languages by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o
7. Science Fiction/Fantasy, [WHY??] In the Blink of An Eye by Jo Callaghan (Crime fiction, but near future with an AI detective)
8. Action/Adventure: The Catch by Mick Herron
9. Childrens/Young Adult, [WHY??] The Glorious Nosebleed: Fifth Alphabet by Edward Gorey (a cartoon ABC of quite often dead children!)
10. Nonfiction Memoir/Biography, [WHY??] Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood by Alexandra Fuller
11. Mystery/Thriller: In the Blink of An Eye by Jo Callaghan
12. Horror or Humor Superskurk by Anna Juul (both at the same time? Very funny and the horror story of living with mental illness)

Okay maybe I'm not doing this one, the only genre fiction I like is crime, and not into memoirs either. My reading of graphic novels of prize winners may take me past something I could fit into some of these, but we'll see.

Well I did it -ish. All the genre fiction besides crime is accidental and questionable, but there it is!

Thanks for keeping the challenges running as always Bob :D
My whys are just because I'm not into genre fiction apart from crime - but I'll wiggle with my graphic novels etc and see if some of it fits. Because as you say it is just for fun - so I'm not reading anything I don't enjoy for the sake of it :)

Anetq | 354 comments Title challenge done!
Challenge #16 - A-Z Title - 22/26 read - didn't manage one of the difficult letters this year, but calling it done anyway.

Author challenge is still lacking a V author - working on that!
Update: Nope, I just forgot someone. Finished! Including a Z author.
