Multiple duplicate editions

There seem to be multiple duplicate copies of the audio book versions. From Tantor Audio published February 20 1918, 7 pages there are 4 entries.

Hi, all six book records have their own unique ASIN or ISBN, which make them all valid records, not duplicates.

You have to use the All Editions view to see the ASINs, since the re-design of the book detail page hides that bit of information from us.

ASINs and ISBNs can be removed from Amazon's site if the book/edition is no longer available for sale. It doesn't mean it never existed at one point in time. On Goodreads, once published the ASINs and ISBNs stay so that users who have those versions of the book can shelve, rate and review them.

I understand. I still find it peculiar that there would be that many different versions published on the exact same date - and confusing as a reader (I mostly get my audiobooks from the library, I have _No_ idea how to distinguish which one I just listened to amongst these if they really are all valid.) It will just have to remain a mystery to me.

Not everything that is on GR is available on Amazon.com.
And Amazon/Audible uses a different ASIN for each website and each country for their Audiobooks (= Audible editions).

So they (Amazon plus others) are using different numbers, essentially internal inventory, depending on what platform the book is being sold on? That sounds like it's all one edition. Just labeled differently. I would have thought the correct response would be to have one record with _All_ the numbers.

Thanks again for trying to explain it to me. I continue to find it perplexing.
