Flippant, irreverent, occasionally daft, occasionally full of pathos.
Flippant, irreverent, occasionally daft, occasionally full of pathos. Different. Enjoyable.
I gave it 3.
Just finished it last night and I agree with Christina. At first, Declan's sense of humour bothered me but once I accepted that was who he was and probably a coping mechanism for his loss, then I started enjoying the book. I was actually more interested in his wife's murder than the two at the hotel and guess I'll just have to continue with the series to see what happens.

     Finished this one, finally.
Finished this one, finally. The main character reminded me of DI Jack Frost (by wingfield) or DC Smith (peter Grainger) And Xiu was just a washed out character.
And then there was the ending ….. or rather, lack of.
I would give it 2.5 stars if I could and I am not sure if I will
Rush out to get the next book in the series
