I think Russell said that she had picked up a book at the Gare de Lyon two days before her return to the UK. ( p, 8 in the Kindle version). I was tickled to find her reaction to Passage to India was similar to mine, so that stuck with me. I assumed that meant she was traveling by train. I can barely imagine her traveling by ship if there were any other option.

Do enjoy your upcoming visit with Russell. I would love to be a bee on the wall.
