Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1228 comments I love Netgalley. Having said that I get a little request happy at times and have a serious backlog I need to tackle. What better way to make a dent in that list than make a 12+4 list for it! And once these are cleared out then I can go on a huge request spree to stack my lists back up!! 🙃 Because whether they are physical books or ebooks, you just can NEVER have enough books to read! So, here we go!!

My 12:
✔️1. What My Husband Did - 10/20
2. Three Sisters
3. Lucky
4. The Lifeguards
✔️5. The Prisoner - 10/7
6. The Blame Game
✔️7. Stay Awake - 7/10
✔️8. The Lost - 9/25
9. The New Neighbor
10. The Senator's Wife
11. Dirty Laundry
12. The Block Party

Plus 4:
1. The Porcelain Maker
2. The Ride of Her Life: The True Story of a Woman, Her Horse, and Their Last-Chance Journey Across America
3. The Matchmaker's Gift
4. The Unsinkable Greta James

You keep listing authors that are unfamiliar to me. I'll check out your reviews of them..

Lea (leaspot) | 3636 comments OK, I actually never heard about Netgallery before, so that was really interesting. What do you wish you knew about it before you joined? Am I going to be obsessed about this place too? I did like Three Sisters, but I haven't read any of the other books on your list. More reason to join Netgallery? :-)

To be honest, a few of these authors are new to me too. There are a couple that I read regularly....

Lea, you must join Netgalley. I only have 92 books to read and review and the list grows daily.

Denise (derickert) | 1268 comments I have a few of these on my TBR list. The Lifeguards was a 4 star read for me. Good luck with your challenge.

I definitely think you'll get obsessed! All these books for free!! I wish someone would have told me to be a little picky at the start. I felt pressure that if a publisher sent me an arc I had to read it even if it didn't sound good to me or a book I would want to read. Don't feel that pressure. Request what you want to read. Publishers want honest feedback and opinions.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a crazy Netgalley list!! 😜

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1228 comments Well it's only taking me half of the year to knock off my first book on this list 🙃! Finally read Stay Awake Stay Awake by Megan Goldin . 4 stars.

Ok. Is it really cheesy to say you'll want to Stay Awake to read this book? Because you will!!! Its a tad slow in the beginning but then it picks up steam like a freight train. And I really enjoy that this was a totally new and fresh storyline in a saturated genre. I've enjoyed everything I've read by Megan Goldin.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1228 comments Finished my 2nd book off this list - The Lost The Lost (Mace Reid K-9 Mystery, #3) by Jeffrey B. Burton . 4 stars.

The Lost is the third book in the Mace Reid K-9 Mystery series. While this book could be read as a stand alone, I think you'll understand the background story and connections better if you've read the first two.

I really enjoyed the first two books and this one was no different. Mace is an excellent character and person. His rescue dogs each have their own personality and add so much flavor to the story. Mace's dogs are trained human cadaver dogs. There is lots of exciting action, family drama, mystery, a little humor and hint of love in this story.

The writing style makes for a fast read, while keeping you engaged. Burton puts twists and turns that lead you through Mace and his pack rushing to find the missing girl. This is a great series and I look forward to seeing what mysteries Mace and his dogs solve next.

I love books that showcase dogs and their incredible skills. Definitely a series I would recommend.

I have alot of ground to make up on this list....

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1228 comments Finished my 3rd book on the list - The Prisoner The Prisoner by B.A. Paris . 3 stars

I consider myself a big B.A. Paris fan. Have highly recommended several of her other books. While the premise of this book sounds intriguing, the execution fell short for me. The characters were jumbled around to where it was hard to keep their connections straight. In all honesty, there was only one character I even cared about - Hunter. This book is actually a fast read, however here is my biggest gripe - the ending! I had to re-read it three times to figure out what actually happened, how and why.

While parts were good, over all it did not hit the mark for me. Having said that, I still love this author and look forward to reading more of her books.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1228 comments Finished my 4th book off this list - What My Husband Did What My Husband Did by Kerry Wilkinson . 4 stars.

A 12-year old girl is found clinging to life and your husband is missing and being blamed for the incident. What a way to start off a book! Do you stand by your husband and believe he's innocent or cut ties because he's guilty of this haneous crime?? Everyone has secrets in this books and there are more twists than a rollercoaster at the fair! I definitely was not disappointed by this one or with the shocking ending. I look forward to reading more books by Kerry Wilkinson.

A great read for spooky season!
