What are your guys readings goals this year and how are you doing?

I curious how many books did you guys plan to read this year and how far are you along?

I started with a goal of 60 but upped it to 70 early on, and I've just started my 71st book of the year :D

I have almost completed my challenge of 300 books. Though sometimes I find myself wondering if the challenges are necessary and I should just read for pleasure of it.

Started reading seriously this year so I wanted to go little by little. At first my objective was 5 books, I kept reaching the goal and stretching it and now I'm at 50!!

I’ll be happy if I can hit 25 books. But the holidays are a really busy time for me. We’ll see how I do

My original goal was 36 but I upped it to 50 a few months in. I haven’t read in almost a decade but I’ve been loving it so much I thought I could at least get close to my new goal.
Now I’m at 67 and with the books I’m reading I’m guessing I’ll end up close to 80 at years end.

I had a couple of "off" years where I did not get to read as much as I would like, so I set my goal low - at 35. I passed that mark months ago and have now read 99 - and still have another month before the year is over (I know of at least 2 books coming to me for review purposes in December and anticpate reading more than just those).

My initial goal was 25 (because I almost failed my goal of 20 last year haha) but then I upped it to 35 and am currently reading my 32nd book.

I have never set any reading goals in my life, as I read for pleasure. This is not Olympics :)

However, having said this, I must say that 2023 was the best year so far for me, in terms of books read - I usually read 15-20 books a year on average, this year it's already been well over 30.

I try to up my goal slightly each year since I started with goodreads. I probably could have read one or two more, but I read Alexander Hamilton, which was great, but so long. I usually only read at night before bed, so I read until I can't see anymore, lol.
