Certain categories, such as "set 24 years before YOU were born" are too specific to each reader to justify a list created by the entire group, so there is no Listopia created for those.

I've seen many sources that say The Catcher in the Rye takes place in 1949, and having read it recently I think that is accurate. It does not explicitly have a year but based on the publication year and WW2 references, 1949 seems right.

I am personally reading a book that only partially takes place in 1942, the year I needed, and it's good enough for me.
