LiteraryCryptid | 60 comments Long time obsessive reads:
The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde - I've read it almost every year since my first read in 2008 (not the entire series though, just this first book)
The Cry of The IceMark - Stuart Hill - first read was probably 15yrs ago and I still like going back to the entire series for a re-read

New Obsessive Read:
The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells - read the first book last year and I've re-read the series 3x now (minus the newest book - on my first read for it), and I've listened to the audiobooks a ridiculous amount of times now. It's definitely a comfort read/listen at this point.

message 114: by Deepshika (new)

Deepshika | 5 comments Mhm well there’s a children’s book series I absolutely raved as a kid , it’s called Martine. I read it all day every day and even went to sleep past midnight as an 8 year old so believe me when I say that I had no phone and just my books and me and I shamelessly relished all my time reading..there’s also Harry Potter than I read in both English and French countless times as a child/teen. Now in my 20s I read fantasy books religiously yet it’s not the same as those days..

message 126: by Dee (new)

Dee Turner | 17 comments Not obsessively, but every once in a blue moon I pick up George Eliot's Middlemarch again. Over the years my perspective has of course shifted, and I see how she's been two steps ahead of me the entire time. I used to mourn over mistakes made by the characters, but now I laugh with her over society's foibles. Love me some Middlemarch!

Marion Over | 27 comments Most of Charles de Lints books.

message 134: by Beck (new)

Beck | 8 comments “If We Were Villains” by M. L. Rio.

The obsessive nature of the characters, how they’re obsessed with art as much as they’re ALL obsessed with each other just makes the book endlessly reread-able.

I own two copies and I keep meaning to annotate one, but I just get so enthralled reading it seems wrong to interrupt with a highlighter or sticky note.

Zoeb Almost the whole of Graham Greene's bibliography - his novels, short stories, travelogues, film reviews, literary essays and even his memoirs. Have to start work again on his brilliant plays though.
