10 - A book by a self-published author

I read Small World: Stories of Ukraine, England and Life by Olga Harkness, a self-published author who lives in my area.

The book is mainly short stories (some poems) about life in the Ukraine before World War II, life as a refugee in Poland and life in South London. The stories themselves are short and are reminiscent in style of folk tales.

I read Little White Flowers. This is the month for books written by local authors to fall into my lap. A member of my church wrote this book. I liked it. She self published it. 5 stars.

I read Call Me Nathan: A Graphic Novel by Catherine Castro. An independent publisher published it. I wanted to read Nettle & Bone for this prompt but didn't have the time.

Since we're including any author who has self-published anything, it just occurred to me that Brandon Sanderson technically qualifies. I hesitate to suggest him because, while he was almost unknown when I started reading his work, he's a bit of a behemoth at this point.
