Kirsty (kirsty_tothill) | 6 comments I have a couple of books on the go.
The one I am reading most nights is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (PB) I have watched a couple of seasons of the show but I am finding the book (half way through the first one) quite different so far. I am thoroughly enjoying it.
On my kindle I have got the first few Plantagenet and Tudor Novels by Philippa Gregory but have only read a little bit of The Lady of the Rivers.
I have read the first few chapters of Home Front by Kristin Hannah (PB) but I need to be in the right frame of mind to read her books.
I have a couple other books I have sort of opened and started to read but have put them aside until I have finished some of the ones I already have on the go.

Amanda Bhear | 80 comments I am now reading the Alaskan Royalty series By Mary Janice Davidson. They are too funny, I love them. They are kind of old. The language is a little harsh but if you can get by that, they are great stories!

message 306: by Rosie (new)

Rosie | 46 comments Anyone have some suggestions for a good romance with over 50/60 main character? I haven’t read a romance in a long time but been in the mood for one and don’t want something with a young main character.

Geraldine | 134 comments Katarina, yes , I imagine a lot of people don’t understand what’s going on in the United States. Back in 2016 when Trump first came in the stage, it took me by surprise too. Living through it as we have for the last decade, I understand more.

Elizabeth Hughescallison | 4 comments I am currently reading Smuggler’s Cove by Fern Michaels - something light after some hard books.

message 330: by Laurel (new)

Laurel | 1 comments Trying to get into the 13th Juror. I am about 22% in and I keep forgetting who is who. Maybe I need a more focused reading time, but there seems to be a lot of characters and jumping around a bit. It could be that I haven’t been able to sit and read steadily so by the time I pick it back up I have to reorient myself. Hopefully I will get into it.

message 331: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Bhear | 80 comments I am starting the Posiden's Warriors series by Alyssa Day. Tiger's eye Mysteries is about one of the rebel warriors in Posiden's Warriors. I was glad he got his own series, instead of just disappearing off the pages. I love them!

message 332: by Rosie (new)

Rosie | 46 comments I had asked for a recommendation about a Romance book for older women and Ruth suggested "Our Souls at Night" by Kent Haruf. It was great. It was raw and filled with emotion that we as older adults would understand. Thanks Ruth.

message 333: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (kelzone) | 2 comments I'm reading Evelyn Waugh's "Brideshead Revisited". I don't think I've ever seen a tv series (the one from 1981) that follows a book more closely. Amazing.
I fell down this rabbit hole because I watched the newer movie from 2008 and was so disappointed. I watched the old series again (saw it when it first came out) and marveled at the differences so decided to read the book.
Anyway, I'm half-way through it and wondering if I should even finish it because it is so like the series. Mortimer did a fantastic job.
Any thoughts from you guys about the movie, the series, or the book?Evelyn Waugh

message 348: by Karen (new)

Karen Smith | 1 comments Currently I am reading Rebecca by Daphne and honestly... I hate it, I hate the main female character so so so much, she's annoying and whiny, and I just want to throat punch her.
I feel like I am missing something in the story. This was supposed to be like top-tier gothic romantic suspense. I am not getting any of those vibes at all.

message 349: by Agnes (new)

Agnes (silkchapters) | 36 comments Just finished Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister which was good.

Now reading The Book Club Murders by Lauren Delgardo good so far
