They were positive that when this was all done and over, their body would be aching. Blood dripped down from their head and they wiped it away from their eyes. Right now, they didn't want to lose this feeling. They found themselves lurching forward, tackling their opponent to the ground. Their opponent was a lot bigger than them and a lot stronger physically. But right now, that didn't really matter. They grabbed their head and banged it against the floor a few times. When their opponent tried to grab them, they quickly punched them in the face and sunk their knee into their side. They watched as their face recoiled. They grabbed their head once more and smacked it against the ground. They felt their heart slow down as the opponent's eyes rolled back. They were unconscious. They sat there for a moment, panting. What should we call you, kid?" The rep roared. Aeric looked towards him, wiping the blood from their nose. They found themselves smiling. "It's Arkyn." they said, brimming from ear to ear. Just a week prior, they could never imagine themselves in this situation. To be fighting in an illegal fighting ring of all things, such a thing would have sounded impossible to him. This changed drastically after his mother died. they felt that their death was their fault and blamed themself for it. they found themselves finding it difficult to be kind to others like before and became suspicious of others after that. their mother was their world and that world had suddenly crashed down. they hardened themselves in order to survive and protect themselves. even so, they still have a hard time turning a blind eye to others injuring the innocent, especially children. despite their carefree attitude, they don't go into things without thinking about them thoroughly and often go into things with multiple plans. They often think about what would bring them the most profit as well. in a way, with their mother's death, they became a lot more calculative than they were before. however, they were always more of the cautious type.

as they reached their teens, they had gotten close to a particular teacher who worked in the school. despite having usually been cautious around adults, they let their guard down and even introduced their mother to them. little did they know, the man would become obsessed with their mother. the teacher often pursued their mother, unbeknownst to them. having been happy to have someone other than their mother to trust, they ended up being blindsided by what was happening behind the scenes. then one day, they heard some noise downstairs. that day, aeric was supposed to have been staying at a co-workers place for the night and was supposed to be there hours prior, but they had thrown a tantrum. it was late and they didn't want their mother to have to take another shift when she was already exhausted. upon hearing the noise, she hid aeric in the closet and told them not to leave and not to make a noise until she okayed it. she ended up confronting the man and having an argument. she was killed in the struggle as she rejected him. aeric stayed in the closet for days before the police and first responders took them from the scene upon getting a report from her co-workers.
aeric was brought to the police station and gave a report. they were allowed to stay with their mother's friend for the night until they could be put in the system. they had a few of their belongings with them, including their mother's stuff. aeric ran away that same night. they headed to new york, where they had been initially conceived and where they were convinced they would meet their father after reading their mother's writings. It is then when they found Loki and learned of the truth of their existence. they entered an illegal fighting ring in order to gain money quickly to support themselves and has lived such a life since then.

He whimpered out. The older male approached him and hugged the small eight-year-old. "Oh, Mateo. What happened?" He asked gently. Mateo hugged his father, even though it would probably stain his clothes. He cried loudly, sniffling. "I-I tried to help. She was being mugged.. B-But I startled the robber.." He cried. "I couldn't stop the bleeding." He sobbed, hugging onto his father. He just hugged him. "It'll be okay, Mateo. We just need to let the police know, okay? They'll ask you for a statement, but remember, you mustn't tell them what you are, okay?" His father said, taking one knee as he bent down to be at eye-level with his son. He nodded, wiping away his tears as he cried, getting blood everywhere. Spiderman grabbed his graduate and called 911. Once they arrived, it was chaos. Mateo was struggling to even think. He's extremely gentle though and enjoys hanging out with others. However, due to his anxiousness, he doesn't really smile much in public, which is likely why he comes off as so unapproachable. however, once he opens up to others, he's incredibly friendly and despite appearing to be the type who dislikes being around others, will often seek others out. he becomes rather laid back when he's with people he's comfortable with and is significantly less tense. however, there are very few he could be this way with. he can actually get pretty excited and loud when talking about things that he's interested in.
he's the type to bottle things up until he can't anymore. he doesn't want to burden others with how he feels, even if he knows they'll say that it's the opposite. despite how supportive his parents are, it seems that he finds it hardest to open up to them out of fear of disappointing them. because of this, it'll often get to the point that he can't handle it anymore and he just breaks.
he isn't really the angry type. he isn't sure why, he was just never prone to anger. however, when he is worried about others, that's usually when his anger shows. other than that, he usually has to be backed far into the corner for him to get mad. he usually tries to excuse others' behaviors until he can't anymore.
in short, he's a clingy socially inept, emotionally unavailable pushover who can't read social cues.
he doesn't seem to really like it when others get mad. he'll often try to placate them or make them calm down. when this happens, he often assumes that he is the one at fault and he had to have been the one to do something to upset them.

One time, when he wanted to befriend a new girl in his class whom he had a crush on in high school, he accidentally gave a five-minute lecture about the dress code and how she was violating it. he went through a lot as a child. he had a great support system, but as peter was taught, with great power comes great responsibility. from a young age, he was trained and taught how to use his powers properly in order not to lose control or to use them incorrectly. however, he was a rather impatient child who idolized his father and wanted to do hero work like him. so at the young age of eight, he snuck out and ended up in a big accident where a lady was shot and killed in a mugging incident. it was a big incident where he had to give a statement and has felt guilty for it ever since. after that, he dedicated himself to training and promised not to rush into things anymore. of course, this led to a great deal of hesitancy from him.

lolol I have 4/7 of those lolol. But uh, Panic attacks aren't a disorder, so I guess 3/7.

Panic disorder is a thing though, as it's a type of anxiety disorder.

Panic attacks itself is something that happens to you though. And honestly, if your not somebody who has them, it might not be the greatest idea to write about them unless you research it or know a lot about it from a family/friend.

Everyone experiences them differently. I write my characters based on mine.

I likely have 3/7 of those as well. And I've suspected 2 of those on that list for me, so that's potentially 5/7.

A lot of the disorders she has are actually common co-morbidities of each other. Someone with depression also likely has anxiety and depression. Those rates are also high in those who have autism/are autistic.

I personally do the same thing. A couple of my upcoming characters are going to share some disorders/disabilities with me.

Yeah! I've noticed that a lot. It's the same thing with people with ADHD. They are also likely to have disorders such as anxiety and depression. All of those are usually under the same umbrella.

I have anxiety, depression, a history of DSH, and I experience bad anxiety attacks and I get panic attacks occasionally. I've been suspected of having ADHD but I never got tested for it since I do well in school.

I just wanted to point out that 'panic attacks' itself is not a disorder, but a symptom of a disorder ( anxiety or, specifically, if they have panic disorder. but you can have panic attacks and not have panic disorder as well. like, I get panic attacks, but I'm not diagnosed with panic disorder. i get anxiety attacks more frequently than panic attacks ).

I get that! i base my characters off of myself mostly. so things like my anxiety and depression
I do have close family members with other disorders such as autism, but even if I do know a good bit about that, I don't typically create characters with it just because I don't want to represent it wrong or anything. ( Although, Autism is a large spectrum. )
I personally believe if you know a lot about the disorder, from experience, family members/friends, or just general interest and research it isn't a problem though.
