I only got the first few chapters read about 6 months ago, so Marchish of 2023. then book was lost. The book starts out where a lady goes on a hike with a coworker. They go swimming through a waterfall. This trail is supposed to only been done by experienced guides. She falls into a deep cave behind the waterfall and finds a miniature horse statue (I think), along with lots of other bodies. She ends up in the hospital and her coworker/date hadn’t been found (this is only a few chapters in). An FBI agent comes in to work it along with her husband or boyfriend. That’s also an agent. He explores the caves and finds one of the paths leads out to a field. The statues is a key clue that the serial killer leaves behind with his murders.
