Am I mistaken that, when merging two duplicate editions that both have an ISBN and/or ASIN (for instance: one with the ISBN13 and the other one with the appurtenant ISBN10, possibly also entered in the ASIN field) these ID's are not automatically moved from the deleted edition to the kept edition but must be transfered by Support?

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments Maybe this section of the Librarian Manual: How to merge two identical editions

"Note that merging duplicate editions means updating the status of the edition with no ISBN/ASIN (or an incorrect ISBN/ASIN) to "Deleted". This automatically transfers all shelvings, ratings, and reviews into the default edition of the work."

needs an addition to the effect that, when the edition-to-be-deleted has a valid ISBN/ASIN complementary to the ISBN/ASIN in the edition-to-be-kept, this must first be moved to the other edition and that this can not be done by a librarian.
