Ted Chiang has become one of my favorite authors. I just came across this delightful little short story, What's Expected of Us, published in Nature in 2005. Just had to share it.

Jo - I recommend Stories of Your Life and Others. It's very good. If you like short stories, there are a couple of outstanding ones.

I've nearly finished Stories of Your Life and Others and it's a great collection of stories, in fact there's not one of the stories I haven't liked so far.

I see that Story of Your Life is being made into a film which will be released next year with Amy Adams. Should be interesting.
