Hannah | 3323 comments This was such a good read, but very different from the only other book of hers I have read – Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers. The book focuses around Jane, who is a moderately successful author in and unhappy marriage as she reconnects with Thalia, Jane’s best and only friend from their time together at Oxford University who disappeared soon after a night that changed both of their lives. Upon seeing Thalia’s name at the top of a New York Times bestseller list, Jane now knows she will be at a book convention, and she travels to New York City to reconnect with her friend. There were lots of twists and turns in this book, and it left you wondering about whether the truth would come out and justice be served right up to the end. Most of the characters are seriously unlikeable, but they were portrayed very well, and there were some really believable toxic friendships. I found myself completely pulled in by the plot, and this was a book I could not put down until I had finished it.

Karin | 9248 comments Thanks! This is on my want to read shelf since I really enjoyed her Unsolicited Advice book. As long as I can like at least one main character and enjoy disliking the others I think I can enjoy this.

Karin - I don’t think I could call any of the characters likeable, just that some were even more unlikeable than others.
