This is a monthly challenge that runs all year long from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

Eight key words are given for each month. Your task is to read one book that includes one or more of the key words in the title that month.

Different suffixes are allowed, for example vanish or vanishing, wind for window, etc.

Please review your book with a star rating. Remember you can give a one sentence review, nothing fancy is required.

You do not need to plan out your list in advance, though many of us will:) You may pick which book you want to read the month of and changes are allowed but please finish the book in the month you are taking points.

Participation points are only for one book a month.

Scoring
1 point each for reading 1st and 2nd book
2 points each for 3rd and 4th book
3 points each for 5th and 6th book
4 points each for 7th and 8th book
5 points each for books 9-12

NOTE: Scoring is cumulative so if you miss a month, you'll have to start over with the scoring points.

JAN- Paris, Sparrow, Future, Dance, Chase, Girl, Why, Ask

FEB- Might, Please, Come, Return, Beneath, Another, Stolen, Fair

MAR- Sleep, Vanish, Sign, Poison, Guide, Chain, Silver, Six

Amanda Dawn | 1679 comments Cool idea! Probably going to do this in 2024 instead of the tbr.

Since I don't have that many books left, I ran all of the words through my spreadsheet and have a book for all months except June. But, I also found that a handful of the keywords don't appear in any title on the list and maybe we could change those ones so everyone has an equal chance each month?

The ones that don't appear in any titles are: dragon, crown, realm, final, beyond, together, hidden, wish, haunt, woods, enough, crimson (but 'red' does), vicious, monster, take, sign, chain, might, please, stolen, sparrow (though 'bird' does), chase

Substitutes (in order) for these that hit on a similar vibe could be: animal, King, world, last, end, solitude, forbidden, wonder, garden, almost, red, devil, angel, have, talk, rope, country, thank, crime, bird, lost

Feel free to take or disregard, but overall love this!

Thank you Amanda for your comments. I will ask the other Admins. I did purposely pick random words knowing that some of them would not be on the list, this is part of the challenge.

You can use wood as the root word and 2 books are on the list for wood.

Gail (gailifer) | 2174 comments Wow, this is going to be more difficult than I thought. I only found three options, that I have not read, for January. On the other hand, I did find three options for January.

Thanks for looking into it Diane. I think this will work for most people, but sadly, I've read all of the 'wood' and 'forest' books. Haven't decided whether I'll sit this one out then, or resume after June.
