I have bought a copy of The Story of English. The profile of the book does not mention any page numbers. The book has 468 pages.

Sorry about that.
This title (The Story of English) should be the correct edition, but I only checked the cover, the publishers and publicaton date.
The ISBN number is 978-0-571-27508-3
