Mike | 48 comments It depends what you're into. Lately, I've been on a zompoc military kick. If that's you're thing, I would recommend:

The Gathering Dead
Escaping the Dead
Arisen : Genesis
Day by Day Armageddon
Tooth and Nail

If guns / military stuff isn't your bag check out:

Dead City
The First Days

If you want humor:

Time of Death: Induction
Zombie Apocalypse 2012: A Political Horror Story

Papaphilly | 80 comments The best I have read:

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War is the gold standard as far as I am concerned.

Patient Zero is very good. Has both a military James Bond type of feel and with zombies.

Feed is the first of a trilogy and well worth the time.

State of Decay is the first of the Revivors trilogy and is military zombies. Not your usual zombie books, but well worth the time.

Joe McKinney books are all fun on the Dead World series and his new series Dead Lands.
