SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments Have you ever read a book so good that you want to shout it out. You want all your friends to read it. You've finished it but want to read again already. It was the best thing you ever read(in a long time, or ever, or so far). Tell us all about it. Unburden yourself and tell us what made it so good? Why should we read it? Talk it up.

Stacey (staceyissassy) There have been a few authors that have caught my eye this year.

Genevieve Clare by J.B. Hartnett and Bride in Bloom (The Beachy Bride, #1) by J.B. Hartnett by J.B. Hartnett

Abbie Zanders - Callaghan Brothers series. Very hot covers, the first one in the series is Dangerous Secrets (Callaghan Brothers #1) by Abbie Zanders .

The best NA I have read in a long time, if not ever The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy .

Just a few, but ones that have stood out for me this year :-)

I can't wait for the series :)

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments Just finished the book called Without Words by Ellen O'Connell . It was so good. I really, really enjoyed it. Also a book I read recently that was fantastic was Shattered & Scarred (The Sacred Hearts MC, #1) by A.J. Downey . Omg, I loved the hero Trigger/Ethan. It was a light biker book. It had some drama but it was low angst. Just a really good read when you don't want anything too intense.

Add Shattered & Scarred to my TBR. Thanks for the heads up!

message 17: by McGee Magoo (new)

McGee Magoo I'm doing a re-read now of Roxie Rivera's Nikolai Volume 2 Nikolai 2 (Her Russian Protector, #6) by Roxie Rivera to prepare and refresh my memory for the release of Kostya Kostya (Her Russian Protector, #7) by Roxie Rivera . This series is so sexy and suspenseful and there's tons of mafia intrigue. It's flat-out addicting.

I would recommend that the reader go in order and also incorporate the 3 books in her Fighting Connolly's series in with the Russian Protectors. They are very tightly connected. In Kelly's Corner (Fighting Connollys, #1) by Roxie Rivera In Jack's Arms (Fighting Connollys, #2) by Roxie Rivera In Finn's Heart (Fighting Connollys, #3) by Roxie Rivera

No problem. Hope you enjoy it. I did for sure. I have already re-read it.

Sofia (aifos) Am I the only one who hasn't read Undeniable?

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments I haven't read it. Every time I read the blurb I say to myself, Do I want to read that? And then I say, Naw and pick something else. lol

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments @Sophie, you are not alone. @ Sarah, I am the same. Something about it makes me stay away. I think it may be too much for me in a read. I guess I like lighter biker books.

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments Yeah, I seriously need a HEA and if I'm not 100% sure I'm getting it...I usually stay away.

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments @Sarah, amen. I guess for me I read to relieve stress and some reads make me feel off if there is too much drama and too much angst. I think that is why I shy away from YA/NA. I don't feel like dealing with that much fighting when it comes to attraction. It seems immature to me. I don't mind disagreements it is natural but to fight every step seems stupid.

message 24: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (aifos) I believe Undeniable has rape scenes and cheating... Big no-nos for me

I don't mind a little angst. but I hate when things can be solved with just some simple communication, so annoying.

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments Sofia wrote: "I believe Undeniable has rape scenes and cheating... Big no-nos for me"

Me too, I don't even like when the H kisses OW after he's met the h. Rape if done right, can be okay, but not the H raping the h ex: Rock Chicks (Sadie/Hector)

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments @Sarah, I agree. a little is fine but not almost the whole book. That is when I want a refund.

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Judy (judyb48) | 11 comments Taking the Heat (Selected Sinners MC, #2) by Scott Hildreth Just finished this one - 5 stars for me. Read Making the Cut (Selected Sinners MC, #1) by Scott Hildreth previously, another 5 star. Very unique writing that doesn't fit the mold of most of the biker/MC genre.

rape if done right? you think rape can be done right?

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments I think she means that if rape is involved in a book and handled right. Some add it but have no sympathy with it or it doesn't come off a realistic portrayal. I know I have read some where it was handled with care and some that were horrible in dealing with it. Same with physical abuse.

I see. I agree with you

message 33: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments Yes, I agree rape is NEVER okay. I meant it wasn't a deal breaker in a book if it is important to the story, but it is handled well. That's why I gave the example of KA's (hector/Sadie). Thank goodness I have not come across many books with rape in them (and hopefully that's because it's not used often). Sorry for the confusion Sofia.

It's okay. Unfortunately rape for me is always a deal breaker, especially if it's the main female character.
I have come across some books where rape was handled terribly, I like books that are dark, but not so much as for me to ever accept rape :/

message 35: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 33 comments In terms of Undeniable, I say don't bother. Not only are the rape and cheating points handled poorly, but no one seems to mention the underlying creepy age difference between H and h.
As for biker series, I recommend both Nina Levine and River Savage as good authors with biker (light) series.

I love Kristen Ashley. Deacon is one of my favorites. I haven't read The Will yet, but it is my list to read in the near future. I am currently reading my way through The 'Burg series.

This is a awesome read. Thanks for your recommendation.

I also have recommendation for the book His Tattooed Virgin. I loved it!! One of my favorites.

I haven't read the book either

Susan | 9 comments No I haven't either and it is not on my TBR list either.

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments Susan, at least I am not the only one. It doesn't sound like my kind of read.

message 41: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments @Sbyrd64 moved our convo didn't want mods to get mad for being off topic. Garwood is an all time fav of mine along with jude deveraux. A knight in shining armor was one of my all time fav books by her.

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments @Sarah, I understand. My favorite is The Secret.

message 43: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 164 comments My favorite Garwood is The Gift and my favorite Deveraux is The Princess.

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments Never tried Jude Deveraux. Only Julie Garwood and Amanda Quick.

It wasn't my kinda book either. I love MC books with grit and angst but this book went way past there and around the corner. And I can't stand books with
(view spoiler)

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments I have to bring up a favorite series I have been reading or I should say listening to. I get the audiobook version because the narration is that good. Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb is a really good romantIc suspense. It is more about the relationship but the cases are a great backdrop to all the relationships and friendships the heroine develops during the series. It about Eve Dallas a Lieutenant with the NYPD in charge of the Homicide dept. She meets the ultra alpha and sexy irish billionaire Roarke and wow. I love this series.

message 48: by Deb (new)

Deb B (et1420) just finished a debut book The Tornado by Missy Blue and feel it needs to be recommended highly. It has been one of my favourite reads so far this year (can't top Jamie Begley's Shade, but what can? - for me anyways)
