Regina Just something I've thought of while reading... in The Notebook, it states that (paraphrasing) "the room has become a tomb for both of them" and that "they're both slipping towards heaven", yet in The Wedding, Allie has died and Noah is still alive and has been for 5+ years. In fact, judging by someone's review, Noah still doesn't die in this book, either.

Baring in mind they both die on the same night in the film.

Is there a reason for this or was I mistaken?

Elizabeth Stegura This is just my point of view. In the movie it is better for the viewer to have the "fairy tale" ending to Noah and Allie eve if the book says otherwise. In the first book "The Notebook" Does it ever say Noah and Allie passed away together? I don't think so, yes it might look that way but clearly in the book "The Wedding" Noah is still alive. This makes us readers want to know more. I have read them both and loved how the story kept going and simpled loved how Noah was still able to feel Allie even in a swan, she is still very much part of the story. Its sweet and at the same time heartbreaking. The love story of Allie and Noah moves on to their children and now grandchildren. I am madly in love with both books and want more...
