Emma | 13 comments Haunting Adeline. I didn't like either of the main characters. The plot didn't make sense and the male character's sub-plot didn't justify me to like him. I finished the first book, but I'm not interested in reading the second.

I'm Just Ken | 51 comments Sad to say, please don't @ me - Atlas Six. Don't know what the hype is. It was a jumbled vocabulary lesson and nothing happened.

OopsieJadey | 69 comments We Were Liars. Words cannot describe how much I cannot stand this book omfg. The writing was nice but the plot was crap, the "twist" was also absolute dogshit and there wasn't a single character I liked - and that's coming from someone who gets attached to charries very easily. But nope, there wasn't a single one omg. I was sooo disappointed because it was hyped up so bad lmao

message 5: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethreadz) | 12 comments Normal People. I got the book because a few of my friends loved it, but I was not aware of the absence of quotation marks. I think I read like 20 pages and just couldn't do it anymore. It was very hard for me to understand what was dialogue and what wasn't lol.

rashmi (hiatus) | 70 comments ruthless fae(book two of zodiac academy)
fmc’s were an intolerable level of pick me

message 7: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline (applejacksbooks) From Blood and Ash series. I am the conductor for the hate train on it. The author's world building consists of having the main character ask an obscene amount of questions, includes racist tropes, and honestly the story was boring and doesn't seem to be fully plotted out. She also basically forces you to not only read this series, but the prequel series which is also unfinished or a lot of details get missed. JLA also does a lot of fan service, which is great in small amounts, but like from what I hear about newer books in the series ititss almost overwhelming.

message 8: by M (new)

M (maryamgamal) | 197 comments idk why but its so entertaining to read how much people hate with a passion) a certain book it's awesome HAHAHA

message 9: by Summer (new)

Summer | 196 comments the tunnel of bones I dnf cuz even a 2 year old could write better and that's being nice like no offence to the author but in my opinion this book was so crap I can't even find any sense in why it exists. not tryna be rude just my opinion

Salma S | 4 comments Fourth Wing

Honestly just horrible plot, characters, forced fantasy and the romantic parts weren’t even that good… like I can’t just name a part of that book that I enjoyed I was just reading and hopping that it would get better at some point.

btw the end is SO PREDICTABLE 😀

varmint (nec_tar) | 58 comments Twisted Love

WHY DID HE SING?
ava was insufferable and alex was a literal criminal

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 16 comments A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L'Engle
The writing is very bad. The plot is too complicated and doesn't seem to go anywhere. It is the only book I have ever dnf'd.

I 100% agree, it's the worse book I've ever read. I anyone likes it, please educate me on why... I'm concerned on your behalf

message 20: by évieane (new)

évieane (evieane) | 153 comments The Witch Collector

The entire action of the book was just so boring for me. Everything was also so predictable that I could not enjoy the book at all. Don't know if i will ever return to it to give a chance to the rest of the series.

message 21: by Tayjah (new)

Tayjah Shatter Me… Aaron Warner in the first book was such a creep. He made Juliette uncomfortable the entire book and then assaults her at the end by kissing her without her permission. First book Aaron was such a icky guy but people ignore that fact just because he’s a “muscular guy with blond hair”.
I haven’t read the other books but I’ve seen people swoon over Aaron just based on the first book alone. The book was so bad that I now have no interest to start the other books

message 22: by Cincere (new)

Cincere Haunting Adeline. The characters were really annoying, hypocritical, and stereotypical all in one. You have the main guy doing everything to the fmc that he says he k words other people for and have dedicated his life to stop. The writing also wasn't at the level that I thought it would be, it felt as if it was taken straight from a 15 year old's dark! (insert celeb here) wattpad. If people enjoyed it, it's fine. I "enjoyed" it because it was so hilariously bad that I couldn't put it down. I just hate that some people romanticize Zade's behavior and try to like,, rope others into it. (Just saw a tiktok of people recommending this guy the book as to kind of make him into their dream booktok guy or something)

message 24: by angeline (new)

angeline (ramblingdaydreams) | 0 comments Haunting Adeline by H. D. Carlton. this (and most DR novels) is the most disgusting book I've ever read. Other than the fact that it has terrible writing and poorly written characters, the story itself is just horrifying. the romanticization of SA, emotional/physical abuse, stalking etc is just terrible.

Kego 🎀🩷 (duhhhitskego) | 72 comments Regardless of my review on this book, I could not wait to finish Twisted Lies !
I was so excited to read about Stella but then she was just... so annoying at times. I'm not hating on this book, but I found this one much more difficult to read then the others.

message 28: by Sandra ꨄ︎ (new)

Sandra ꨄ︎ | 74 comments The summer i turned pretty. Gosh I hated that book, it was a whole other level of boring. I genuinely don't know how I finished that book.

Aurora ☣︎㋡☙❦ | 27 comments My Dark Romeo.
It was astonishingly chaotic. and not in a good way. Its supposed to be an Enemy to lover trope, but if you have any morals for self-respect, respect in general, standards, don't read. I swear I got a headache with every chapter, and it kinda romanticizes a very bad eating disorder. but not only that, it's not even realistic about it. it's like a girls dream to eat cake and not gain an ounce. and the writing is just, ugh, it's bearable because everyone there is stupid. oh and it doesn't even have what I bought the book for... spice... it lacks spice, ENTIRELY

message 30: by Annalise :)) (new)

Annalise :)) Honestly, They Both Die at the End isn't all that great. I mean, it isn't terrible, but Matteo and Rufus' relationship felt rushed and underdeveloped, and the way that Matteo died was so stupid and I was so annoyed about it.

message 31: by Carissa (new)

Carissa (soccertomato) | 2 comments Hated the Red Queen series, the Crave series and A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows. Just felt like they were all kinda whiny and not well thought out. I got annoyed with the first two and tried to read the next and just loathed every second of them. The last one I just gave up on toward the end entirely. Somehow people love them. Good for them 🙃🙃🙃

message 32: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I dislike Empire of the Vampire intensely. Also House of something and something, the first 2 books. Total waste of time.

message 33: by Louise (new)

Louise | 96 comments Love and other words! it was kinda cute at times but the last half? wtf everything seemed so rushed and dont even get me started on the comletely unnessecary death which was so obviously just there for the plott! The reason for their falling out is so unrealistic and problematic aswell

That book was soooooo boring and the MCs were both annoying. Also the plot wasn't that good either.
I'll give a point to the end, because I wasn't expecting it, but I guess that's it

message 36: by Purvi (new)

Purvi (puru31) | 103 comments My Dark Romeo , too tired rn to start a rant , the girl was so so so fucking stupid like please , she literally thought of using used condom to impregnate herself despite "Romeo" being very against it and ohmygod someone pls ship romeo's ass to jail , didn't know I could "hate" books so passionately, bye-

message 37: by ReadwithCharlie (new)

ReadwithCharlie | 11 comments It‘s „Reminders of him“ from Colleen Hoover. I‘ve never hated any character but Kenna. Everything she did was so wrong, i can‘t understand why people like her that much. Also the romance between her and Ledger was so boring and i didn’t felt the love between them. I don‘t like the story pretty much, but that‘s just my opinion.

I read both though I liked it told the story to my friend and realised it was actually shit like worst book I’ve read in my life. I had a hard time reading the cruel prince but I liked it but Colleen hoover is something else I read them so fast I didn’t even realise that I hated it I just realised when I think of positive things about this book, and I found none 😭😭

Rancy | 18 comments Never never series by CH

I read this so fast and i was so confused, i wanted to know why what or how this happened in the book, but the info was so little and i didnt like the sotryline or the characters. Their wasn’t any character development that made me know or feel the character. It was literally some rubbish, and a 10 year old can wright better.

message 49: by Molly (new)

Molly | 12 comments The midnight library. It was on my FYP for days. At first it was good but by the halfway mark I was over the plot I DNF'd it. I tried to read some of the authors other works but I think it's just that authors writing style doesn't appeal to me. And can someone tell me why there were so many metaphors?? Felt like an elementary school assignment.

I would actually love to pick your brain more on that thought! Why do you think it's fun to read/hear negative comments more than positive ones?

(I definitely agree, but I'd love to hear some insight!)
