@Kacie—I so agree with you about all the important world building and characterization that happens in this book, the first part, in particular! It’s crucial!

MWT is the queen of characterization and has some of the best dialogue ever, especially in the books to come.

In the story of Eugenides birth, when the man and his wife name their son Eugenides, the story says, “the well-born” or something like that. I never realized it was a real meaning, though!
