liaa ᯓ★ | 9 comments hi ! i love fantasy books and i’m interested in starting acotar, but i’m not really sure if i’ll like it.. would you recommend and is the target more for ‘kids’ or older teens/adults ?

message 2: by Lilith (new)

Lilith Jane | 45 comments I would definitely recommend it! All books are enjoyable, even the Novella. I'd say it's rather for teens/YA since there is a bit/a lot of smut in the later books.
I started acotar as a kid and didn't like it but I picked it up again several years later. I can honestly recommend them a lot and even though I'm rather new to fantasy, I loved it.

Lilith Jane | 45 comments I'm currently reading acosf so I'm not fully done yet! 20% in it's good/great but getting better page by page

♡♥︎Maymoona♥︎♡୨ৎ | 26 comments I think it's really fun and a good time so ya I recommend💖

TimeFliesAway | 121 comments Nope. It's toxic and the protagonist is annoying af.
Only good thing about it was the writing style of the author, but overall a waste of 400 pages.

Target is teens. It's a very cliche hetero romance with a love triangle.

message 6: by Marti (new)

Marti I would recommend them to my 13, 14 year old self. For those ages, it is a very good series

booksandT (applesauceinateacup) | 2 comments Read It!
ACOTAR is a more older YA book, in an NA Series. and it Is Slow, it's a world building stepping stone, to an amazing series. I think one of the main points the author was trying to make in ACOTAR and through the following book is showing what a Healthy relationship and a unhealthy relationship Look like.
it is a really Good Fantasy series.

message 8: by Eri (new)

Eri (eri-) I would recommend ACOTAR! I liked the characters and the world SJM created. I struggled with her writing a little bit with this series but most people really enjoy it!

Morgan Rose | 89 comments i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend if you like fantasy with a bit of spice. I would read if you’re 18+.

thecrystalw1tch (crystalw1tch) | 4 comments 100% I know a lot of people think they're over hyped and I do understand where they're coming from. But the ACOTAR series fully smashed me out of a loong reading slump.

so I definitely think they're worth a shot. ☺️

Nikki | 19 comments YES!! I think reading ACOTAR and all her books, Throne of Glass is really interesting and exciting as well, no smutt but i personally think the writing is a lot better

Fiction Vixen (fiction_vixxen) | 5 comments I am on book 2, they are long, but oh so good!!!

message 16: by Emma (new)

Emma Turner I’ve read them all and I really enjoyed them!

It takes a different tangent with acosf but I really loved the exploration it did of mental health and the Cassian/Nessa dynamic.

I favourite relationship was Feyre and Rhys though because they were such a team. I think they really helped each other heal from their trauma emotionally.

Bibliophilic.girl (bibliophilicgirl) | 79 comments It's good. You can also try Throne of glass by same author. In my opinion this series is much better more plot, more angst. Although the starting is a bit slow but it gets better by the 3rd book:)

message 18: by Larissa (new)

Larissa | 41 comments First 3 definetly

message 19: by Kalyn Brook (new)

Kalyn Brook (kalynbrook) | 4 comments I was afraid to read ACOTAR at first, but I finally gave in, and I'm so glad that I did! I am currently reading the Throne Of Glass Series by the same author, and it's also a must-read, in my opinion.

message 20: by Sam (new)

Sam K (zutara123) | 251 comments It's probably not the best piece of literature in a technical sense but I love it. I find it a lot of fun. I love the characters and their relationships. I would say it is better for older teens and young adults. If you like fantasy romance then I would recommend it.

message 21: by Dorrianne (new)

Dorrianne Lima | 3 comments I defenetly recommend

message 22: by Birdtrovert (new)

Birdtrovert | 11 comments I find it a very fun and emotional series, so yeah! You don't have to take it seriously and still have fun with it.

message 23: by Sarah Lehman (new)

Sarah Lehman (sdelgado8404) | 116 comments yes. I liked the second book better than the first, but the whole series was a very good read.

message 24: by Sara (new)

Sara G | 61 comments the first book walked so the second could run, I definitely recommend it!

message 25: by rachrach ⚘ (new)

rachrach ⚘ | 19 comments 1000% recommend it. I read through the first 2 books in a week when I found the time.

message 26: by Li (new)

Li Lacombe | 8 comments Yes, definitely, but it’s not as good as Throne of Glass.

message 27: by Lis (new)

Lis Pearson You should read all of SJMs books. They are all great. But I agree, TOG outdid ACOTAR, for me, by a mile. But in the grand scheme, start at the beginning.
