Acidicbath | 3 comments ebooks but if i like the book ill buy a physical copy

message 3: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 130 comments I do a little of everything, but I mostly read Kindle on my iPad. I listen to Audible when I am walking or doing something and sometimes books are just too old to get on Kindle, or I go to a used bookstore because I love books. To be fair, I still go to B & N because I can’t help myself. I tell my husband all the time that it could be worse, I could be an alcoholic, instead I’m a bookaholic. When I die, the only thing saving my husband from our house looking like Lynn’s Memorial Library is my Kindle. Too much information? :/

Rissa (rissasreading) (rissasreading) | 177 comments I like physical books the most but Kindles have peaked my interest

message 5: by Lilith (new)

Lilith Jane | 45 comments I do not own a Kindle and I'm more on the physical side. I just need to feel the paper on my hands and see my progress :) I do plan on buying myself a Kindle for Christmas though if all goes as planned

TimeFliesAway | 121 comments Printed!

I don't mind reading Comics/GNs digitally, but when it comes to text, I just can't read it on a screen. Get headaches after just a few pages, it's no fun.

message 7: by Annika (new)

Annika | 79 comments I like both physical and ebooks. Usually I read English books as ebooks and I only buy them when the price is reduced which is not possible with German books as by law these books can only be sold at an fixed price. That's why I get them printed because there's now way I'm paying 10-13€ for an ebook.

☆EmilyEverAfter☆ (emilyeverafter) | 102 comments I prefer my Kindle that's all I use.

message 9: by Dennis (new)

Dennis | 1 comments Reading a book physically and comparing it with a digital version of it feels like two different worlds. I very much prefer the former world rather than the latter.

message 10: by Janereads10 (new)

Janereads10 | 37 comments I prefer physical books.

message 11: by Maya (new)

Maya | 23 comments I usually prefer physical books, but currently I'm mostly reading ebooks or listening to audio books, and then buy a physical copy if I liked the book enough.

message 12: by Elissa (new)

Elissa (Id_ratherbe_at_pemberly) (elissaerica) | 12 comments audible and ebook is the best for me. They're the most convenient. then i buy the physical book if I want it for my personal library.

message 13: by Kaytie (new)

Kaytie | 72 comments I love physical books but lately I've also been a bit of a kindle junkie.

message 14: by Sarah✨ (new)

Sarah✨ | 11 comments Physical! Paperbook if under 500pgs. Hardback if above 500

message 15: by Jennifer (JC-S) (new)

Jennifer (JC-S) (jenniferjc-s) | 8 comments Kindle while travelling, or for review books. Physical books otherwise.

message 16: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela (gabrielastbr) All of them. I love a physical book, but audiobooks and ebooks are essential for me to read as often and as quickly as I do. I usually have one of each going at any given point to be able to read no matter the situation.

message 17: by Deb (new)

Deb Van Iderstine I love all book formats, but am increasingly spoiled by being able to save highlights (even from library ebooks borrowed on Kindle) and search definitions or relevant info right from the text. Also, not having had physical space for my library since selling a house back in the nineties, and being forced to pare down my collection periodically ever since gives me added appreciation for the digital format, despite many reservations over essentially licensing, as opposed to owning books, and the difficulties of sharing. Also, as one ages, the ability to adjust print size can become a serious benefit. I've helped a couple of older friends get comfortable with ebooks for precisely that reason.

message 18: by Viel (new)

Viel Adams | 13 comments pretty interesting so see that a lot of people have an open mind when it comes to reading mediums

Agree 100%!

message 20: by Mary (new)

Mary I still prefer print books and request them when given the option. But e-books are less expensive and don't take up physical shelf space and I have a table filled with them. I feel like I should be up and actively doing something when listening to an audio book and am more easily distracted, so audio books just are not a good fit for me.

message 21: by Roksana (new)

Roksana | 4 comments Audiobooks

message 22: by Kelli (new)

Kelli (klc1097) | 2 comments Physical books but I enjoy audiobooks while driving. It allows me to read two books at the same time! Bonus!!!

♥︎ Heather ⚔ (New House-Hiatus) (boston730) Audible/Libby/Hoopla/Kindle. If I love it, I buy the physical copy. I do have a good amount of authors that are automatic physical book buys though.

message 24: by Kristy (new)

Kristy Buehler Hardcover physical books will always be my favorite. I have used Libby and Audible the most for the past three years though. eBooks and audiobooks are just so convenient. Like a lot of you, if I really loved something I do my best to buy a printed copy for my shelf.

message 25: by Larissa (new)

Larissa | 41 comments man, if hardcover wasn't always so expensive, I wouldn't have a single paperback in my library

message 26: by The Book Paradox (new)

The Book Paradox AshV (ashvs_page) | 19 comments Digital books. I prefer reading in my Kindle and also paperbacks..

message 27: by RAVEN (new)

RAVEN | 8 comments I do both. carry a physical book and my kindle Oasis. Never without a book.

message 28: by evie *s-ia* (new)

evie *s-ia* | 45 comments i like hardcover physical BUT TOO EXPENSIVE smh

so paperback physical for me!

message 29: by Annika (new)

Annika | 79 comments I don't get audible. I mean you have an abo, get 1 book for free each month and you have to pay extra for each additional book. Why would you do that? Am I missing sth?

message 30: by Sara (new)

Sara | 9 comments Paperbacks are my favorite. I have the kindle app on my phone and I usually have one book going there so I always have something to read while on the go. 📖

Audible has a library for members now too. It's not amazing but I definitely get use out of it.

message 32: by Shane (new)

Shane | 5 comments Gotta be the Kindle, that portability, the ability to instantly get dictionary definitions and the amount of books I can carry at once

message 33: by Peter (new)

Peter Longden I love print (new or secondhand) but Kindle is good for travel and Audible because I deliver cars which gives me opportunity to listen to books as well.

message 34: by Anne (new)

Anne | 7 comments Hardcover books. I love the feel, the smell, and the sound of them.

message 35: by Schvenn (new)

Schvenn | 18 comments I always try to get the hardcover copy of a book, but may listen to it via audiobook and read both the hardcover and ebook version at the same time. I try to avoid or replace soft covers, if I get them.

I'm kind of doing that right now. I have the large print version of Book of Negroes, but have listened to it via audiobook a bit, read about a third via the physical book and another third through the ebook. As I finish each major section I also watch an episode of the mini-series, making sure to never watch further than I've read. LOL

message 36: by Sunny (new)

Sunny Sunshine | 2 comments I need a device that is back lit as I have no great sources of light to read by. I always loved hard back books but now it's only Kindly Oasis.

message 37: by Georgina (new)

Georgina Hynd | 9 comments I go with the Boyscout motto "be prepared ". I have an audible always on the go to listen to in the car or when I'm doing housework, I have a book downloaded through Play Store for when I'm stranded somewhere like a doctor's surgery but my absolute preference is always to read an actual book. I love the whole sensory experience of it.

message 38: by Sam (new)

Sam K (zutara123) | 251 comments I prefer reading from physical books wether they be hardback or paperback.

I am similar - I don't physically have room to store all the comics I read so I got rid of a room full of longboxes years ago and aside from graphic novels or trades that I really love I just read all my comics digitally now.

I just can't get into reading books on a screen though - I just find I lose attention much quicker and eye fatigue kicks in sooner. There is something about the overall experience of holding a physical book that makes it a much better experience overall.

message 40: by Gary (new)

Gary Allen, PhD (gallen6) | 21 comments I have switched to eReader.

message 41: by C.J. (new)

C.J. Aralore (cjaralore) | 13 comments Reading on my phone is convenient, but I also love listening to audiobooks while I'm doing physical things that don't require a lot of thought, like cooking or walking or exercising.

But, when it comes to physical books I'm a hardcover purist. Yeah, sorry, but paperbacks and their curving covers irk me.

message 42: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Emma Robins (kaylarobins) | 63 comments Both!

☆EmilyEverAfter☆ (emilyeverafter) | 102 comments kindle only girly here lol

message 44: by Wyetha (new)

Wyetha (wyesreads) | 229 comments I do love a physical book, but an audiobook lets me listen while doing other tasks. I still love kindle for the feature of being able to highlight quotes or annotate.

message 45: by Savannah (new)

Savannah (savannahjenkins) | 0 comments I am as old school as it gets. I am 100% physical book. I don't care about new, used, hard, or paperback. I just have to physically be able to turn the page.

message 46: by Joan (new)

Joan | 4 comments kindle or audio books

message 47: by ♏Vanessa♏ (new)

♏Vanessa♏ | 2 comments Kindle and audio together. I move a lot and physical books are not practical, but a have a few special editions anyway.

message 48: by Alexa (new)

Alexa | 5 comments Audiobooks! I love being able to do chores or drive and still be able to read a book! It is such a game changer as an adult who doesn't get to hide in her room reading all day anymore! Also if you think you don't like audiobooks PLEASE try reading then at faster playback speeds and/or listening to different narrators before giving up the medium entirely. I've gotten to the point where I listen at 2x in my earbuds but even just slightly faster so it's closer to the pace you'd actually read at is so much easier for me to pay attention to! Also some narrators just suck so make sure to try a few before you decide you really don't like audiobooks! P.S. Check and see if your library has Libby or Hoopla for ebooks or audiobooks! It will save you hundreds (if not thousands!), haha!

message 49: by rachrach ⚘ (new)

rachrach ⚘ | 19 comments I love having a physical book but I also don't want to move 6,000 books by the time I am able to get a new home, so I go between Kindle and having physical books depending if I think having a certain book is a must to have it physically held.

message 50: by Amber (new)

Amber Cui | 1 comments I prefer a physical book, but I’ll read comics digitally.
