Abigail Johnson This book is Young Adult fiction, this book is good for anyone 12 years and older, "Does my head look big in this" tells the story of a sixteen-year-old Muslim-Australian girl named Amal who makes the decision to wear the hijab (a headscarf worn by Muslim women) full-time. Set in Melbourne, Australia, the novel explores Amal's struggles and triumphs as she navigates the challenges of being a teenager while visibly expressing her faith in a predominantly non-Muslim society. Amal's decision to wear the hijab full-time is met with mixed reactions from her family and friends. Some support her choice, while others are critical or even hostile.Throughout the story, Amal grapples with issues of identity, belonging, and cultural expectations. She faces prejudice and stereotypes but finds strength and empowerment in her faith and determination to stand up for her beliefs.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved being able to learn about a religion I didn't know much about and see how their beliefs weren't much different from my own. I loved being able to read a book that is in the perspective of a teenager and seeing how she thinks and why she does what she does. I loved watching the characters grow throughout the book and see how much they all grew personally by the end of the book.
