Mustang Moon

5 stars!
Young Sam must find a way to prove that her Phantom is not the one who is stealing mares from local ranches. I just enjoyed this.

This is a great discussion! I am very interested in reading many of the books mentioned here. If anyone has a link to an ebook or an online version of any of these books, could yo..."
If you would click on the book links that are in the individual posts, that should lead you to the book page here on Goodreads. Most of these books are probably available to read on Kindle on Amazon.. you can also try your local library. Many libraries have e-books available..
I know not everyone uses the drop down menu to create links but I always do on my posts. Otherwise just type the book title into the Search bar and hopefully the book comes up.

Life: The Ultimate Picture Puzzle: Can You Spot the Differences?

LIFE
3 stars
After awhile doing these got pretty tedious. And the puzzle difficulty levels seemed uneven. The Genius was easier than the Expert.
Ring of Fire: A New History of the World at War:

So I had been hoping that this 2025 release would tell me what the Great War had been about. But it tells you everything BUT that. Yes, no where in here does it say what had started the war or what they were fighting about! Which is very shocking. There is no explanation at all. The book just started with people out in the street all excited and waving flags, etc...
This book was VERY graphic. It got to be too bloody and gory for me. Due to the first person accounts.
So I was more than halfway through when I decided to DNF this book. In part because I was getting grossed out by the bloody descriptions (and take note I am used to reading horror) but moreso because I had no idea what all of these battles in here was even about! Because the authors never say. And that is utterly horrible.
Those countless people died for a reason. How can you not include WHY they died??

My favorite book of this year out of 76.
It was a grandiose adventure set against the backdrop and magic of Old Hollywood.

Fractal Noise

Christopher Paolini
5 stars!
I would rate this 6 stars if I could!
This book has so much going for it! It's not only a very unique mystery about this mysterious giant black hole on the planet named Talos, but it also focuses on four people who have their own problems too. Alex, the main character, is suffering from the death of his wife, Layla. He decides to focus on reaching the hole but the planet's surface is very hostile environment. And before you know it, there is much stress and tension between the four people.
Very strong man vs nature elements in here.
I absolutely loved this story.
And one big problem in here is that almost all of the characters are so stubborn and think they are right (except for one who tends to just agree with everyone but that makes it worse too)...
Intense action! Tension you could slice with a knife. And even near the end I was unsure how this would end.
