Caraval or Once upon a broken heart?

I want to read once upon a broken heart series but do I need to read caraval first? Are they linked?

it is possible to read once upon a broken heart without reading Caraval. that's what I did and I was able to understand everything going on. But once I read Caraval did give me more backstory on the characters in OUBH and I was like ooohhhh so that's who they were talking about in OUBH . I thought OUBH was better than Caraval, I didn't really get into Caraval until book 3.

please please please read caraval. there are so many characters and backstories you'll miss out on if u read ouabh first

^ u will indeed miss some characters and backstories, but its not that important to ouabh's story — u can just look it up online. but caraval is a really good book trilogy, so i would recommend u read it. but its not necessary

I’ve only read caravl and not the rest of the series then i jumped into once upon a broken heart and i enjoyed it anyways
