Yesica (yesster) | 39 comments For this promt y read Vintage Contemporaries (1105 ratings) and loved it! It would also go great with "5. A book set in one of the 25 most beautiful cities in the world" as it is set in NYC.

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments I read an ARC of The Night in Question I enjoyed this can see it making a series - sort of cosy mystery with a little more to it than most

Dana Cristiana (silvermoon1923) | 287 comments I plan to listen to The Royal Trials by Kwame Mbalia so I can finish the duology.
It currently has only 54 ratings.

UPDATE: Nevermind, I just DNFd it.
Instead I'm reading The Art of Japanese Living: Bring Mindfulness, Joy and Simplicity Into Your Life by Jo Peters, which I'm currently loving so much! It has 112 ratings.

Misty | 1489 comments I read India's Story by Kathlyn S. Starbuck for this prompt. Right now it has 9 ratings - it had 8 when I read it. :) It's not surprising it has so few. It is a Sci-Fi book written by a woman in the 90s. It was so good. I am trying to track down her other books now.

The Hive and the Honey Stories by Paul Yoon
The Hive and the Honey – Paul Yoon – 3***
I like this kind of literary fiction. This is a collection of short stories, all featuring Koreans. The settings and time frame vary, from Europe to Asia to North America, from the 19th century to contemporary times.

Hannah | 60 comments Monster wie wir by Ulrike Almut Sandig - Monsters like us- a novel from a young German writer that flashes into your brain.
Sexual abuse, violence and desperation are the topics in this book, so how to say it is nice? But is has it´s nice parts, there is friendship, love and caring about each other. A study through the society, where violence is on the daily agend short after breakfast.

Anne | 307 comments I am reading The Sixth Wife by Suzannah Dunn. It has 1409 ratings on Goodreads.

Liz Alb | 117 comments For this prompt, I read Profile K by Helen Sarah Fields. Although this was a suspenseful thriller, and the near-future sci-fi angle was interesting, it wasn't a favourite.

The book was published in 2024, and has 1,194 ratings at this time. A total of 44% of readers loved it and rated it 5 stars.

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3840 comments Earlier in the year, I had read Diva by Daisy Goodwin and slotted it here. At the time, it had less than 2024 ratings but doesn't now. I'm going to move it to the 1 word title prompt and replace it with Cue the Sun!: The Invention of Reality TV by Emily Nussbaum, which has 1,573 ratings and I have nowhere else to place it.

Denise | 524 comments I read Pathetic Literature edited by Eileen Myles. It has 66 ratings

message 66: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments This one was just not a good fit for me, although horror fans might enjoy it and her books get good reviews. Unfortunate Elements of My Anatomy by Hailey Piper is an imaginative collection of short stories featuring encounters with mean men, headstrong women, bloody monsters, enormous worms and strange trees, among other truly imaginative concoctions.

As of today, it's received 196 reviews.

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 393 comments I'm on a Bronte kick this year, and I picked up Charlotte Bronte: A Fiery Heart by Claire Harman which currently has 1,845 ratings on Goodreads...a real shame if you ask me, as I found it a very well-written biography (though, in the vein of "never meet your heroes", now I have to live with knowing about the more neurotic and unpleasant side of one of my favorite authors).

ETA: My review of A Fiery Heart can be found here.

C-A | 22 comments Several of the books I read this year would work. Officially, I'm counting Esther's Innocence by Benjamin J. Boswell. (Currently 7 ratings)

Also read:
* Program MIRA by R.J. Setser (Currently 27 ratings)
* Beneath the Scarlet Frost by Marissa Miller (Currently 66 ratings)
